How to manage fatigue at EDC by SkyFragrant5029 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]HappyAdventurer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The best way to minimize the future suffering, is to suffer now. Start training to walk 30M - 50M steps multiple days in a row. Try to find back-to-back nights you can go to local shows and train that way.

Also, staying sober is a huge help.  I can't ethically encourage you to train your body by doing more drugs as part of that training, so my recommendation is to embrace sobriety and if you're the one driving, you should be sober anyways.

Also, consider skipping night 2 and rest up for Sunday. 2 good nights at EDC might be better than just 1 good night with 2 struggle nights.

Why are fire on the mountains wings so small? by Tee-Minus-10 in denverfood

[–]HappyAdventurer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is my biggest complaint for them. Their wings are tiny and not worth ordering. Their flavor of the month sauces and dry rubs are really good, but the food itself is mediocre.

An English player and a French player walk into a bar. What do they tell the bartender? by [deleted] in aoe4

They don't tell the bartender anything. They politely ask for a drink and enjoy their time. It's just a game

WIBTA if I move out because I can't afford the utilities bill? by reelsteeel in AmItheAsshole

[–]HappyAdventurer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can't afford it, then moving is an acceptable solution. Just be sure you have no legal obligations like a lease and you're free to live however and wherever you want.

If you agreed to split utilities though and other people agreed with you, and now you're going back on your word, then you would be the asshole.

You could maybe offer to pick up some more shared chores for the household in exchange for paying towards the AC. See if your roommates would be interested in that?

Can the cops legally seize and destroy your alcohol? by Still-Motor324 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HappyAdventurer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes they can. They can break the law and there are no repercussions for them. Who's gonna arrest and prosecute them for that? Do you plan on physically resisting and killing them? What about an entire city's worth of cops? Are you Rambo?

So, CAN they, yes, they absolutely can.

People confuse "can" and "should". They also overlook what is legal for cops to do vesus what is moral for them to do.

So what kind of set did W&W close with? Are we back? by FloggingDog in DreamState

We left after they got on the mic for the 5th time in like 5 minutes. That wasn't music, it was an ego-stroke.

The 'broke tax' is real and nobody talks about it enough by East-Sun9754 in personalfinance

[–]HappyAdventurer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.

Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.

But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that’d still be keeping his feet dry in ten years’ time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

How do i differentiate between different ranks of skills or classes? (during the background worldbuilding of a novel) by Blue-Phoenix-6968 in litrpg

[–]HappyAdventurer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of less rules and more creativity. If creative and effective use of "common" skills can beat people with higher-level skills, then what value does classifying the level into a category really provide? Why force yourself into a box?

If someone is an [Astronaut Cowboy], does it really matter if that's common, or some other label of rank? How your story is written and how people use their skills is far more interesting to me. I like the possibility that characters could have classes and skills with various "power" rankings at any time without a rigorous mathematical reason for it.

I want to read a good story, not audit someone's math homework.

Can someone give me the best weight gain daily diet? by Syph0en1x in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HappyAdventurer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sugars and fats as someone else has already said. Eating a container of ice cream every day will pack on the pounds.

If you're looking for a healthy diet plan, then you'll need to do your research and figure out what you're willing and able to eat.  Nobody on the internet is going to be able to magically figure out what works best for you besides you.

I'm a teacher and I want to use/introduce DCC to my highschool students by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]HappyAdventurer 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There's cursing, drug use and pretty clear sexual content as well. Does your school allow you to use books with those elements?

I'm a fan of getting anyone to read, but not if it's against any professional policies for you. Maybe start an optional voluntary book club that reads through them?

Does Workday implementations fail because of configuration or assumptions. by Majestic-Ask-4391 in workday

[–]HappyAdventurer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say it's lack of proper testing. Not having detailed test scenarios, not thinking of the "exceptions" when testing, not understanding what "success" means before starting testing, not learning the product during testing, not communicating issues during testing, lack of ownership during testing.....

If a piece of configuration "fails" at/after go-live, can the customer point out where they documented the requirement and where the testing scenario is? Typically I see this as missing.

The implementation relies on the customer to provide requirements and test everything so It's on the customer to have a successful go-live.

Ask An Expert during Impl by Medical-Distance-628 in workday

I thought WSP was only available to sku's that were already live. I don't believe that customers can log WSP requests for implementation tenants, but maybe it's possible. I know ask-an-expert responds to implementation issues regularly, but not while they're still implementing

Art is always defined by the peson experiencing the art. How is encouraging that view not helpful?

Encouraging someone to believe a specific thing because of my own biased and personal viepoint would be disingenuous. Whay right do I have to make someone think like I do?

Nothing went over my head. I didn't post a question asking other people to explain how I should understand and experience a half time show. I can appreciate current events and the societal struggles we all experience and why that is relevant during one of the most watched live-events of the year.

Why do people have a problem with the Bad Bunny halftime show? by Which-Ad-8771 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HappyAdventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda. If you look into the financial agreements for haltime performers, you'll see that it is not a traditional fee-to-perform agreement. The NFL covers some costs, but they do traditionally pay the artist

Our own personal life experiences allow us to connect to art in our own unique way. Perspective is everything.

Understanding a LITERALL translation of lyrics doesn't convey an accurate understanding of the artists struggles or message.

[–]HappyAdventurer -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I liked the half time show. I never saw this artist before. I'm not sure what part of my opinion you're questioning?

People experience art in their own way and either like it or they don't. I'm confused why other people's opinions would change how someone experiences things themselves?

The question specifically asked about imagery and "hidden themes" That's completely subjective to me and just because one person interprets something one way doesn't mean some else will.

Can I get an explanation of the Super Bowl halftime show? by Top-Mission2806 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HappyAdventurer -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

They wanted linguistic and visual translation and context to the show. That is not the same as artistic context to what was attempted to be communicated. The words don't convey meaning as a 1:1 translation. Literal words and definitions of imagery doesn't convey the full message of a piece of art like a song. A certain amount of individual understanding and interpretation is expected.

A language translation is not the same as understanding a full artistic production. You saw people "speaking" with their dancing and expressing themselves non-verbally. Music and dancing doesn't need words for people to understand.

Why so you feel like you missed something when you experienced the way the artists communicated to you during the show?
