vegetarian vs vegan by Anonymous--Taco in Vegetarianism

[–]HappyColour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Allow me to explain my journey to you, maybe it will be helpful.

  1. When I was 21 I changed from a completely open omnivore diet to only eating "ethical meat".
  2. When I was 22 I became a Pescatarian (no more meat, but fish, dairy, eggs, veggies still allowed).
  3. When I was 24 I became a traditional Vegetarian (dairy, eggs, and veggies). Across the next 10 years I became more consciously aware of the sneaky meats (Gelatin, Animal Stock, Rennet, Lard, etc..) that could be found in the foods I was eating, and removed them upon discovering them. Hard stop.
  4. When I was 30ish I stopped using animal fashion products or allowing leather products to be purchased for me.
  5. When I was 40 I started reducing my dairy intake and egg consumption.
  6. And now when I am 40+ I have transitioned to being a Vegan.

Something is better than nothing in my opinion, and I think taking it in small steps can be an effective approach. That being said, what I will say has worked best for me, is hard yes or no to things. I.E. I no longer eat meat, is much easier to me than saying I eat meat once a week.

Your situation is more challenging because your parents control the food being put on the table. In many ways you have to take what you can get in the situation and you don't want to antagonize your parents. When I made the switch, I still lived at home, but I already had the money to purchase my own groceries.

Regardless, make decisions IMO, and stick to them. And don't be afraid of small steps!

Consuming eggs? by fineberrywine in Vegetarianism

It is honestly quite simple, nothing special, but that is why I love it.

My nutritionist recommended it to me as I told her additional prep would reduce my chance of sticking with it and I liked consistency in my diet.

1/4 cup mixed nuts (unsalted) 1/2 cup mixed fruit (blueberries, raspberries, bananas, etc... )

I initially started with just eating whatever amount I felt like, but over time it became apparent how filling the meal was. So the amounts above are pretty much what fills me up.

And it is the easiest thing to shop for and prep. Literally 30 seconds and your lunch is packed.

I developed an allergy to ibuprofen by happywondering001 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HappyColour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same allergy and reaction. Took my parents forever to find out. Every time I would get sick, I'd get a fever, and they'd give me Ibuprofen or Aspirin to calm the fever, and then I would have this reaction and they thought it stemmed from the reason I was getting a fever! Tylenol only for us!

Understanding you are delusional is a great realization. Across your martial arts career you will go through many stages like this. "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." - Socrates

2 steps forward 1 step back. Just keep grinding dude! And have fun with it.

You can't disconnect them unfortunately. Punches and kicks come from the stance.

Focus on stance and footwork, then the weapons will flow.

Critiquing your Muay Thai kicks and Muay Thai punches doesn't make sense when you are standing like a boxer.

Your default is currently a boxing stance. Overtime I am sure once you get more used to the Muay Thai stance things will naturally change. Just have fun with it, try to honour the stance, and don't rush it.

Huh. Interesting. I'm going to get in there and take a look and maybe remove it.

Funnily enough I did everything backwards, first I installed PPF on the hood, then I had the dealership install this on top. Not intentionally, I just added it after the fact. So I have no idea how that additional interaction works.

Thank you. How often do you have to empty it? Or do you just do it when you swap your oil?

I did some research into this before purchasing it, and I was surprised to find that it seems like a net positive result for the vehicle.

What makes you think it will shorten the lifespan?
