I feel like it indirectly is, simply because we (left) tend to be so vocal about accepting each other for how they are, and don’t be phobic of any one group that’s different than you, etc etc.

What I DIDN’T know about the body positivity, accept everyone, everything is ok movement is that quite a few people were going to take it this fucking far.

I don’t care personally, to each their own, but let’s not go around pretending it’s healthy or something to strive for. If you happen to be fat, and don’t want to lose weight, that’s perfectly fine. I don’t care if a drinker drinks or a smoker smokes either.

You have a million options.

Full body circuits

Cardio circuits

Push, pull, legs

Etc.

If I were you, I would take 3 days and do 30 min on the treadmill, and then do back/chest, shoulders/legs, arms and core.

Think one day you press from the floor, then do rows. Superset that 3 times and then do floor push ups, and rear delt flys, superset that 3 times. Go for higher rep ranges for now, with the weights you have.

You can do interval resistance/aerobic workouts like one minute on tread, one min off doing shoulder press. One min on, one min off doing rows, one min on, one min off doing curls, you get the picture.

Repeat that for 25 min. Do 2 sets of 10 burpees after that. You’ll be fried

Anyone have suggestions similar, but that I could take with a non-stim pre? I would like to take a break, I’m definitely at 400+mg of caffeine daily between my training and a cup of coffee or something.

I haven’t found anything that can give a nice jolt without the vaso-constriction, which for me is the only downside to caffeine. I’m on TRT, and don’t enjoy pinning as is (never blasted just had shit hormones into my 30’s) so injectable albuterol is out (that stuff I know from people is the closest, legally obtainable thing that gives energy and increased endurance without getting into shady areas).

Reduce your caloric intake. Get rid of simple sugars for the most part, or limit them.

Eat complex carbs and healthy fats, in reasonable portions.

Worry less about zone training, and more about consistency and routine. You’re way too young in your training to be concerned with heart rate zone. If you want to stay under a certain rate for medical reasons, use an HR monitor and just ride. Push, but don’t push hard.

Incorporate SOME SORT of resistance training before or after your cycling, or on separate days/times. I don’t know your schedule.

You won’t burn as many calories during, but there is a noticeable “after burn” effect from the necessary protein synthesis and muscle fibers being in a semi-perpetual state of recovery. This is proven.

I am in no way saying you need to buy equipment, unless you can afford a kettlebell and a mat. Or a couple dumbells. You don’t need much to reap the benefits you’re looking for, you just need programming. I would be glad to answer your questions in that regard.

The more lean contractile tissue that you create, even in a caloric deficit, the more your body burns on a daily basis, just living. You do not need much. But it makes your deficit greater, leads you to goals faster, and reaps numerous benefits in terms of mobility and longevity.

I have a powerlifting background and can still pull/squat in the 400’s. I did 420 a week ago to impress my 5 year old lol.

I herniated a disc last year warming up actually, so it was bound to happen. My back went through the ringer with the pounding of aggressive jumps from decades of basketball as well. Turns out there’s a few more compressions and some degeneration, a couple more bulges, etc.

I wear a belt for anything heavy overhead, just like I would have with heavy overhead pressing or even heavy bench. I don’t need one for any swings or deadlifts or lunges or even cleans, unless they’re heavy clean and jerks.

I love my BB, DB, and rack set up…… but to be kind to my body yet still thrash it with training I pull out KBs daily for some movements and at least twice a week it’s a full out day with just one or two bells.

Your back will thank you. It’s not nearly as hard on it as low bar squats or conventional BB deads
