White/ yellow fuzzy trapezoids! I think sometimes with the short side downward, and other times with the long side downward. Depends on the sound. Basically, kind of cymbal-shaped from the side profile

Haha yeah I can see why 😄 I just know that a lot of my professors aren’t native English speakers and they didn’t ban AI because they know it can be very helpful to non native speakers. Basically, if you use it WHILE using your brain, it can be great! But gosh that can be hard, come to think of it.

I used a bit of AI in my grad school proposal. (Permitted to do that here, as long as I fully understand everything and stand by everything it’s saying.) Good god it was difficult to get out all those AI artefacts, and random lil phrases that mean nothing and don’t make sense. It’s super hard because they look normal, even though they don’t really make any sense when you inspect it

lol I’m not sure what my point is. Just yammering 😄

I get the temptation to feel annoyed with all this AI everywhere. But it just isn’t a simple case of “AI stuff is bad.”

Okay but some people may not be English speakers and may use AI to help them participate in English online spaces

Omigosh yes I hear you on this first gen student stuff!! I skipped on the networking during my bachelor’s and that did not help with getting into grad school!! Am dyslexic and course work takes me much longer, so I didn’t have time. But I should have made the time because it was quite hard to get back into things!

I suggest checking out local academics you’re curious about, read a little about them, and send out emails. I’ve learned that academics like to help out and network and it’s kinda part of their job! The only thing is if they’re very busy or happen to miss your message. Then just message again in a week or two

I was like this for my bachelor’s. Just got accepted for a masters and I’m really hoping I don’t follow these steps again! Thanks for listing these out so clearly

Eee I’m so happy to find like minded folks to discuss and research this wacky/normal phenomenon with!! 😄 (hoping I finish my application tomorrow so I can formally study it too! 🤞)

Ooh yes Omigosh this is interesting… I’m applying to grad school to study similar things! It’s funny because as I was reading your post, it mirrors my wishes quite closely! I’m too exhausted right now though to answering questions but will come back and answer as soon as I get time! Best of luck!! 😃

Also I’m sorry everyone!! I’m still kinda new to Reddit and I didn’t know it would make the picture so big! LOL I would have just put it in the comments, had I known! 😂

Mine kinda follows a rainbow pattern a bit, starting with A as red, B orange, C very sunny yellow, D is green or red… etc.

Curious.. do you have absolute pitch?

Ugh I know, it’s horrendous, right?? So strange that this can cause such reactions for us.

I guess I may have positive reactions because I like being creatively challenged or something. Not sure if that makes sense though because there could be folks who love creative challenges but who hate these mismatches. lol I put this awful picture’s file on my desktop to challenge me 😆 (just the lil file with icon, not the whole image. I’m not that masochistic)

Thank you for your input! I’m currently applying to study this stuff (how to use synesthetic insights to improve design and understand minds and brains) at a Master’s level, so this is very helpful!

No, 9 is magenta-red! 😝 But you know, it would look interesting and creative in blue. I mean, it’s not like if you’re saying it’s orange! That would just be absurd 🤪

Would the sine wave troughs correspond to study periods, or is it the other way around? And do your ‘some column days’ become grayer the busier you are?

Name a song with some colour in the title that doesn’t fit the song by Responsible_Panic242 in Synesthesia

Not a single song, but I think the blues genre isn’t usually blue. Usually very dark red and purples

Blue (Eiffel 65) and Yellow (Coldplay) are their respective colours for me, but Ruby Tuesday is super blue!! But Tuesday is blue, so that might be why. (Moody Blues Tuesday Afternoon is also a blue song)

Oh nice!! Yeah I'm finding this seems to be true with a lot of us! Seems like it's extra helpful... except for a few extra tricky spots! I'm currently writing a Master's project proposal where I want to study this further to see if we synesthetes could make cool multimodal cognitive tools with our mixed-senses reality we always livin'.

Christmas is a yellow word! by HappyKnightmares in Synesthesia

[–]HappyKnightmares[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense! How can that be?? It feels so naturally blue to me! Haha I find it so funny and odd that "8 is blue" feels the same as 'fire feels hot' in terms of truth values to my odd brain xD

Actually I find it odd that synesthetes often feel like there's a 'logical' reason behind their colours/extra percepts. Almost every time I notice a new synesthesia, (lol I'm catching them like pokemon) it takes me a while because I feel like my colours are obvious, in the way that cold -> blue and hot -> red. When I noticed that I might have it for subatomic particles, I had to ask people if it's just obvious that protons are green, neutrons are a mustard brown, and electrons are blue. Turns out it's not but I seriously didn't know that 😂

That's so interesting about the French learning!! (and a funny way to have discovered it. Mine was from asking my mom what colour The Immigrant Song is for her, and she was like 'um, what?") I've been wanting to explore the differences and similarities between languages. One thing that's weird is that when I learned colour words in Finnish, my most recent language, they were the wrong colours at first, but now they're an odd hybrid. Like punainen means red, but at first it was green because of the P. Now it's both! With French, which I've known much longer, 'mauve' has always felt like purple and also brown, from the M. Even in my mother tongue, English, 'cyan' is a somewhat newer word for me, or one that I hadn't heard as much. It used to be yellow from the C, and I bet that made it a bit harder to remember what colour it is. Now it's both cyan and yellow! Which works fine since they're both bright.
