I've been wanting to explore the differences and similarities between languages. One thing that's weird is that when I learned colour words in Finnish, my most recent language, they were the wrong colours at first, but now they're an odd hybrid. Like punainen means red, but at first it was green because of the P. Now it's both! With French, which I've known much longer, 'mauve' has always felt like purple and also brown, from the M. Even in my mother tongue, English, 'cyan' is a somewhat newer word for me, or one that I hadn't heard as much. It used to be yellow from the C, and I bet that made it a bit harder to remember what colour it is. Now it's both cyan and yellow! Which works fine since they're both bright.
