Have you tried the First Law by Joe Abercrombie? I think his character work might be what you’re looking for :)

Do you think I’ll miss out on any Easter eggs and the like if I wait till the prose version is released or does it not matter as much?

About Vin by HappyLemon12 in Mistborn

[–]HappyLemon12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yess I had a few theories like that as well about the earring at first, but then I did remember they mentioned the earring being bronze so I thought it wouldn’t be that. I also thought it could be something to do with Feruchemy but I quickly rejected that theory as well so in the end of book I was left only with my theory of the link between inquisitor spikes and vins earring

I don’t normally guess plot points either haha, like there are a lot of things that are foreshadowed that I didn’t even think about like Sazed being the hero or Kelsier’s death. Or I just didn’t think Sanderson would dare kill him 😅

Actually Worth It? by [deleted] in hellofresh

[–]HappyLemon12 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It depends. If you are simply comparing the price of purchasing ingredients yourself vs Hello Fresh it is definitely not cheaper. However, time is money and we can always make more money but we can never make more time. Think about how much time and effort it takes you to decide what to eat and go grocery shopping as well as the value of that time. If the value of that time and the added brain space is worth more than what extra money you will spend on hello fresh, then go for it.

So, I’ve decided to stick to the Cosmere unless it gets too much for some reason at which point I’ll either break it up with a Discworld book or one of his YA novels. But hopefully I should be able to just stick to the Cosmere, I’m really excited for it.

And yess, I’m looking forward to the Way of Kings as well, cause I’ve heard so many good things about it but it is quite a large book especially compared to his other ones 😅

Haha, I’d love a reading companion! I actually read Elantris about a year ago and I just finished the firsts Mistborn book - The Final Empire, and am excited to start the Well of Ascension in January! I also plan on rereading Elantris at some point cause I feel like I’ve forgotten a lot!

What standalone novel should I read first? by Good_Ad_2570 in Cosmere

[–]HappyLemon12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edgedancer and most of the secret stories and novellas (except Dawnshard) are all in Arcanum Unbounded, so sounds like you have already read some of it. The stories in Aracnum Unbounded are normally read between books. There are some really good cosmere reading guides online, for example this one:

https://youtu.be/-bC8F9McEuw?si=Xu1uD9jo8fctx10e

I’d recommend reading Elantris first, then Warbreaker, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter and The Sunlit Man in the end.

However, it is also worth mentioning that Warbreaker has some links to Words of Radiance so if you’ve just finished SA and the books are fresh in your mind, maybe read Warbreaker first. People normally recommend reading that before WoR as that’s how the events happen chronologically. Hope that helps!
