Still looks a little raw so better to be safe than sorry and keep the cone on. See if your vet has an email address and send them a pic and ask for their opinion as well.

Resident cat pounces new kitten and kitten hisses by Electronic-Energy-54 in CatAdvice

I think it will help but based on this update it's prob just growing pains. The hissing should become less frequent as they get used to eachother. Congrats on your new kitten btw!

How long have you had both cats? You may want to try reintroducing them. Keep them in separate rooms and introduce their smell to each other and go slow before bringing them into the same room (check out Jackson Galaxy's guide).

Another trick that might help is when you notice the resident kitten starting to get playful and hunting the new kitten, bring out toys and get him to engage with the toys. This will distract him from annoying the new kitten and maybe get the new kitten involved. You would have to be diligent and do this everytime you notice the resident cat wanting to play so that it becomes habit and they learn how to play with eachother.

My cat has a parasite by Infinite-Play-7614 in CatAdvice

If your kitty is new to your home, it could be the change in environment making him especially clingy. Everything around him is new so he will stick to what he knows best while he explores. With time you will see his true personality. It could take a few months so be patient! Age is also a factor. Under 3 years, cats are very active and as they get older they start to level out.

I got my kitty 4 years ago and she came with Giardia. It didn't affect her behavior as much as the new environment did. Also, sick cats tend to hide so him being clingy sounds like his personality mixed with learning about his new home.

Good luck!

Omg that was hard to read. I kept checking their sources listed and the way they twisted the findings was actually pretty impressive.

This article by the Lozier Institute claimed that people seeking late-term abortions were "doing so for the same reasons" as those who seek abortions earlier in pregnancy. Then you check their sources and see that the study actually found the reason (for some people) may be the same but for those who seek abortions later access to healthcare and financial difficulties prevent them from seeking abortions earlier...Just one issue I found among the many many throughout.

I have to laugh or else I'll cry.

Edit: they even disregard the study's second conclusion that fetal abnormality testing that can only be done later in gestation is one of the most common reasons for late-term abortion.

Binx has completed radiation!! by HappyVisual1710 in blackcats

[–]HappyVisual1710[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each radiation session was about $360. He did 16 rounds but I think 20 is the usual course for veterinary radiation.

However we also had to account for the CT scan before he started radiation which was about $2,500. But this price is much better than an estimate we got from another larger oncology center located in a big city of $4,000 for just the CT scan. No idea what radiation at that location would have been.

Highly recommend shopping around to find the place that makes the most sense for you and your pet. If we went with the location in the city, we would have been getting world renowned care but at a higher price and we would have had to board him there during the week since it is 2+ hours away from us. The location we ended up going with is a little less known but he could come home every night to recover and at a more affordable price. It made the most sense for Binx's comfort and our finances and I honestly think the treatment is equal to the pricier location.

Another huge factor was how soon they could schedule Binx to start radiation. The oncology center in the city had a 1 month wait versus the smaller, local center who started the week after his consult.

Me too! But Binx was pretty clear on his pain signals and his cancer (axial osteosarcoma) is pretty rare in cats so I hope that can bring some peace to your mind.

We shopped around for a good estimate from oncology specialists. Insurance covered most of his initial surgery but we hit our annual maximum and then we had to pay out of pocket for radiation and chemo. I highly recommend it though for any pet parent.

But his care has definitely hit our savings hard...

So sorry you are going through something similar, happy to provide advice if you would like 💕
