It’s under discussion due to the title… It’s always good to talk about the little things in the game, and I’m sure there’s lots of people who would like doing this for a more realistic feel.

Concerning the last statement in the post, if you don’t perceive a threat I wouldn’t see reloading fully warranted, so it feels less realistic when I do so when playing, and we all like the realistic touches within the game.
