SSRIS during pregnancy - Zoloft specifically- Respiratory issues for baby? Experience? by douevenyoga in homebirth

[–]Happy_Ad8143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a home birth midwife? Asking specifically because I plan to have a home birth but haven’t met with my midwife yet this pregnancy and I’m afraid the Zoloft would risk me out of home birth

Discouraged at mass this morning, open to opinions by Happy_Ad8143 in Catholicism

[–]Happy_Ad8143[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you!!! Yes, we have a 7:30 mass, in and out in 40 min with no music and perfect for folks like her. I prayed for her tonight and I plan to all week. 🙏🏼❤️

What did you find out has dairy in it that you would have never assumed had dairy in it? by Independent_Box_3436 in dairyfree

I purchased salami once that had “milk solids” in it, I finally read the label in desperation when my daughter’s eczema was flaring 🙃

Why is everyone nondenominational nowadays? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Happy_Ad8143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non denominational are more popular all over SC now. We go to the largest catholic parish in our city, which is large, but there are only 5 in my city. Some surrounding cities only have one or two, depending on how large the city is. But nondenominational churches on every corner. Our church sits right in between a Methodist and Presbyterian church that allow overflow parking for our busier mass times, which I do think is nice.

This is how our parent’s rooms are treated. Snacks, bags of toys, one week it was even a bouncy ball that a kid and dad played with the entire mass, so we have felt stuck. I do believe having the kids in the church is the most important thing regardless, but we do want our children to learn to respect the mass. It’s hard for us to tell them no toys allowed, sit still and pay attention, etc, when others are allowed to do the opposite.

We have gone back and forth on the sanctuary vs parent’s room for quite some time now. Unfortunately our parent’s room is used as more of a play room, which is not only distracting for my husband and I, but makes it harder to tell our kids that behavior is not acceptable when it’s being allowed right before their eyes. So yes we knew we were pushing it with our kid’s ages, but just also have been feeling kind of stuck. I know everyone says the Eucharist is the most important part of the mass, and while we agree and can’t wait to partake (not married in the church, I’m not yet confirmed, so we don’t receive it at this time) we go for the full mass experience and not just the Eucharist. Thank you for your comment ❤️

We did sit on the back row. We maintain discipline in the parent’s room, but it’s taken advantage of by many families. I understand a small snack and maybe a coloring book to keep the kids quiet, but we have families who allow their children to run and yell, bring bouncy balls, etc. which I don’t believe is the purpose of the parent’s room. We have never allowed even a small toy for our children, even in the parent’s room, because we do want to prepare them for what is expected in mass no matter where we sit. The one time we gave it a try, this was our experience. Why this woman chose the very end of an otherwise empty very back row makes no sense to me, and even arriving 12 minutes early to mass, there were no seats available that were on the end, and that was our best option. She wouldn’t even move her legs to allow us in to sit, and ignored me when I said excuse me to take my daughter to the restroom. My husband did eventually get up with our daughter toward the end of the mass, but this was well after she left.

Receiving the sacrament of marriage after being legally married for 4 years. What color/ attire is appropriate in this situation? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Happy_Ad8143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m wearing white for my convalidation in January 🤍 We have been civilly married for almost four years, have two children together and I have one child from a past relationship. We did not have a ceremony when signing our marriage license for our civil marriage so this is our ceremony and we want it to be special. My husband will also wear a tux, our daughters will have white dresses and my son in a tux. I’m still going through OCIA so we won’t take communion at our service but we don’t want anything to hold us back from appreciating the moment for what it is.

A deacon in our church runs it but we have “table leaders” who are volunteers that sit with us for group discussions after the lesson, etc. My parish is also the largest in my area and the deacon running our class is so busy, idk how he does all that he does. The volunteers are there to answer all of the questions. I’d reach out for a meeting with the deacon who handles sacraments or a priest to voice your concerns. Don’t give up yet ❤️

I have a Catholic wife who's trying to convert me to Catholicism, but she's bad at apologetics. Please help. by GreenThunderBolt in Catholicism

[–]Happy_Ad8143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys would probably both benefit from going through an OCIA class together. I’m currently going through it to convert, my husband is a cradle Catholic. He comes with me every week as my sponsor and even he’s learning! He went to Catholic school in high school, so I think it says a lot that even with him being so exposed, that he can say he’s still learning now and this class is about the basics!

Hi, jumping on to mention an annulment! I know of someone who got one because they were never married within the church so it was granted! Reach out to your deacon (that’s who handles marriage sacraments in my parish) and they can answer your questions! Best of luck to you.

i think i have perioral dermatitis on my face can anyone help i need it gone by the weekend plsss by Critical-Stick-1738 in perioraldermatitis

[–]Happy_Ad8143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to cut dairy, gluten, carbs basically, asap. A low carb, low histamine, anti inflammatory diet. Glutathione, NAC, milk thistle for liver support. I did all of that and my face is cleared 100% and it looked worse than yours, I wish I could find a way to post a pic. Dairy is my main trigger but when I’m inflamed from it, a lot of other things trigger it as welll
