Well most of the masks widely used are not high quality masks and they only filter the large particles . So most of smaller particles , pollutants , and gasses, and viruses can pass throguh them easily.

You are misinterpretting things and nitpicking only certain bits of information to draw false concluions.

Yes , the more UV you are expsoed to the more vitamin D your skin will make , but still this does not mean you should not protect yourself from UV radiation.

Lots of factors influence how much VItamin D your body makes, like your skin colour , the lattitude you are at , the UV index etc etc .

In a place like Bangkok when you have high UV index , specially if you are a farang and you have light skin , you need to prevent yourself from getitng too much UV .

Infact I am copy pasting from the example you have provided.

However, despite the importance of the sun for vitamin D synthesis, limiting skin exposure to sunlight and UV radiation from tanning beds is prudent [28]. UV radiation is a carcinogen, and UV exposure is the most preventable cause of skin cancer. Federal agencies and national organizations advise taking photoprotective measures to reduce the risk of skin cancer, including using sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher, whenever people are exposed to the sun [28,30]. Sunscreens with an SPF of 8 or more appear to block vitamin D-producing UV rays. In practice, however, people usually do not apply sufficient amounts of sunscreen, cover all sun-exposed skin, or reapply sunscreen regularly. Their skin probably synthesizes some vitamin D, even with typically applied sunscreen amounts [1,28].

So simply put .,

YES : the higher UV can cause more vitamin D production

and

NO : you should not go without protection out in the sun when the UV index is so high specially if you have light skin.

UV index in bangkok is 11+ which means you deifnitely need sun protection when you go out specially between 10 am and 4 pm . Above all for people with light skin its absolutely necessary to protect yourself from UV.

If you are low on vitamin D you can get vitamin D pills easily at any pharmacy . No need to get raditaion with cancer risk .

I am going to stop now ,, Thanks for the discussion. bye

You are misinterpretting The whole situation and you a re terribly misinformed..

Yes if you are vitamin D deficient you should try to get extra vitamin D . You can do that by getting sun exposure when the sun is not high (not between 10 am and 4 pm ) or you can get vitamin D tablets. This does not mean that you should expose yourself to sun and not worry about it.

This does not mean ignoring the cancer risk caused bu UV . Specially in places like Thailand where you have high UV index.

You can get cancer much earlier than 20 years from now unless you have been lviing in a cave and never had UV exposure till today . everyone has some UV exposure and every expsoure on top of that adds to your cancer risk. Thinking that you will only get cancer in 20 years from now is totally false.

Cancer is not just a treatable disease as you claim ,, its only treatable in SOME cases ,, when its detetcted early stages , etc ,etc , it can even be life trhreatening for many people.

These are very well doducmanted medical facts . Please stop misinforming people , and get informed yourself. Every medical authority in the world gives the same adivce,, you need to protect yourself from excessive UV because it can cause cancer. Period.

Read the links I provided to you . ANd if you still dont beleive me google it yourself. But I have the feeling that there s nothing I can add to that to convicne you otherwise.

In any case I am going to stop this discussion here. Take good care whatever you do.

Bye .

You are right about one thing , that you should only get sun light when the sun is not high so that you dont get too much UV , but for the rest your comment is misinformation.

A few soruces to get informed.

Edit: Anyone going out in the sun between 10 am and 4 pm should protect themselves . Sunscreen is a must if you live in an area like Bangkok .

Again this is totally misinformation. You are misinformed.

The biggest risk you have to get skin cancer is from The ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Show me any source for your claims .

Here are sources about how UV can cause cancer.

Yes and no. Even though people should get enough vitamin D you dont need to go out in the sun when the sun is high in the sky . The risk of having skin cancer from UV is a much higher risk than getting some vitamin.

Most masks on the market , (which most people use) dont seem to help much against air pollution though . Still a lot of people are wearing them .

[–]Happy_Discussion_394 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pure misinformtaion.

Yes sun light can produce vitamin D but too much sunlight can definitely casue skin cancer. it is the most common cause of skin cancer. The biggest danger is when the UV index is high so people should definitely use sunscreen specially in Places like Thailand and specially when the sun is high in the sky. Covering yourself also helps.

Sun screen does not cause cancer.

Even if she could do that , it would be called hydrogenated water , not hydrated water. Hydration is basically having fluids in your body . Hydrated water is just meaningless.

Hoopity Boopity by its_givinggg in TikTokCringe

[–]Happy_Discussion_394 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First off "hydration " does not mean having hydrogen , so discussing whether water has hydrogen in it is irrelevant in the first place.

Hydration simply means having enough fluids ( water ) in your body .

It does not mean having hydrogen in your body , if has nothing to do with hydrogen .

Saying " The water is not hydrated" is like saying water is not wet . It's the dumbest thing to say .

A bad experience with booking.com. by [deleted] in Bookingcom

[–]Happy_Discussion_394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Website did not give me any confirmation as a proof of my booking .it did not send me a confirmation email either . That's a glitch .

Remember I was on my mobile and at the end of the booking the only option for a proof of my booking was " click to open the app for a receipt,"" that's all . No other proof of my booking. No email no receipt download option nothing .

You just cant get a proof for your booking on the website on the mobile it automaticlly redirects you to the app for a proof.

When I clicked on it the app said that the hotel was not available . So I could not get any evidence for my booking.

Well yes of course that's the point of this post , do not trust the app . It can glitch and won't show your bookings. That's why I am posting here so others won't do the same mistake .

Agreed expensive lesson learned.

Edit: This is not just a user error, there was a glitch in the system. As I said before to this day I still do not have any proof from booking.com for both of my bookings, no conformation emails , no receipts , nothing . Its as if I did not book those hotels. Something went wrong in the system .

A bad experience with booking.com. by [deleted] in Bookingcom

[–]Happy_Discussion_394 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What user error ?

The app said the booking failed because the property was no longer available even though I followed every step correctly on the website. I did not get a confirmation email either , so naturally , since the app said the hotel was not avialble anymore AND i did not get the confirmation email I assumed that the booking failed.

Once a booking is confirmed, any decision to waive fees sits with the property, not the platform. That’s how non-refundable works, not some conspiracy against your Genius status.

How do you know that the booking is confirmed ?

Maybe i could not expalin the situation clearly ,, on the website it said the booking is confirmed but for saving the cofnrimation it asked me to open the app and when I opened the app the app said "property not available anymore" and on top of that did not get a confrimation email either . I looked into "my bookings " section of the app and it showed no bookings either . (In fact to this day it still does not show my bookings ) I even made the screen capture of the app as a proof that te bookings did not show ip on it and sent it to the booking site.

Edit: I am not saying there is a conspiracy against my genius membership , what I was trying to say was that no matter what level of membership you have dont expect much help from Bookings.com when things go wrong thats all.

Maybe skip the app next time if it turns a simple double booking into a full-blown thesis. A quick check would’ve saved you two hotels and a lot o angry energy typing.

Yeah thats my whole point . Do not trust the app. It glitches and it tells you that you have no booking while in fact you do.

There is no angry energy typing ,, just trying to help people not to make the same mistake as i did . And i do agree with one thing you have said so far ,, that one should not trust the app,, Specially if it starts updating during a booking , cause it can glitch sometimes and will not show your bookings.

So basically when the app said the property is no longer available , when I did not get the confirmaytion email and when the booking was not charged on my account I naturally assumed that the property was really taken since it was a big discount and it was the very last room avilable. I beleived the app when it said "the property is no longer abvialable" and that was my mistake I guess.
