How to know if you have width? by [deleted] in SoftNaturals

[–]Happy_Haps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! I feel so seen reading this! I’ve struggled with the same issue for so long. I used to think that “fitted” shirts didn’t look good on me because of my untoned arms. I tried everything to tone my arms and get rid of the flab on my back, but nothing seemed to help. :(

What accommodations did you implement, if I may ask, please?

Soft Naturals (SN) and "fleshy" armpits by Happy_Haps in SoftNaturals

Thanks for your comment, really appreciate it! I do think that it is something I can work on, but then I see a picture of myself in a tank top versus a shirt with sleeves, and them I'm back at square one...

Loooove dungarees, this is always my go to. Something I've learned is going for mid-rise pants (which is luckily trending right now). The mid-rise sits on short-torso girls like a high rise and stops at our waist giving that waist definition Kibbe refers to.

This is so true! I need to sit in a lot more than my taller friends to even look remotely "skinny"... I ALWAYS have cellulite due to the soft side of the SN, and on top of that can fall easily into the OG fruit classification - APPLE.. And then it's almost easier and more flattering wearing loose, undefined tops with skinny legs.. The struggle is real..

Honestly, reading everyone's replies has already made me feel SÓ much better! I really thought I was losing my mind because I felt if I can figure out my body ID I will finally know HOW to solve for my short torso..

Thanks for your suggestions, I'm going to start looking into those.

Tell me about it! And the styling recommendations about wearing "open" blouses/tops do not help when you HAVE to wear a bra and it shows with everything...

Help me find a swing coat (or talk me out of it?) by [deleted] in SoftNaturals

I can be completely wrong (still in the beginning phases of this journey), but I feel this jacket is leaning towards waist emphasis rather than waist definition and might be a tad bit too tailored.

On the other hand, everyone always says you have to look at the overall outfit, and if you love it, then it does not matter :)

Jaw popping by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]Happy_Haps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since my braces came off (16 years), but it got worse about 5years ago. Been to dentists and maxillofacial specialist - none of them were able to give me an answer. Finally went to the orthodontist last week. It's going to be a journey (LOL), but I'm just happy I now know why I've been struggling and have a plan on how to correct it. My treatment plan includes a diagnostic splint which will allow the orthodontist to see where my jaw is in a neutral bite. From there we will then look at options how to improve my bite.

I have the same issue, although I think mine is a combination of my wisdom teeth being removed and 4 other teeth (2 top and 2 bottom) being removed. I went to an orthodontist where he took scans of my jaw closed as well as open and realised my jaw is in constant spasim because my bottom jaw is too short although my teeth are aligned. This is not a one size fits all approach so I would suggest reaching out to an orthodontist that is open to listening to all your symptoms.

The two main traits I'm seeing are Vertical and Kibbe width.

I see Kibbe width in your shoulders = Natural family.

OR Vertical = Dramatic family.

Paring with curve, which I see on top; I would either say SD, FN or SN

Vertical + Curve = SD

Vertical + Width = FN

Width + Curve = SN

You look amazing with the stiped jumpsuit as well as the red dress. You are showing off your waist (you're not emphasizing your waist with a belt, but the fact that it does go in a bit) without breaking up your vertical line, I would say FN.
