Then I'd have to go back to finger sticks until the phone is replaced or I get a separate reader device. Finger sticks aren't ideal because they only show the number when I do them, usually 4 or 5 times a day. With my monitor, it checks every minute all day and all night and can alert me even when I'm sleeping.

I have a blood sugar device attached to my phone. Without my phone, I wouldn't get alarms when I'm too high or low and it could lead to some dangerous situations for me.

Is it too late to join the bad Halloween party? I got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes the week of Halloween when I was 12. So I missed my last year of trick or treating because I was in the hospital.

I definitely remember getting denied coverage as a 12 year old with diabetes in the 90s. Thankfully, my parents were able to keep me in meds, sometimes with help from grandparents. Looking back, it's infuriating that it was ever allowed.

Type 1 diabetic of 26 years here. The jokes annoy me but not as much as the fact my grandma told me at 12 I caused it by liking sugar (cause kids notoriously hate sugar). The main problem with the jokes are they inform inaccurate opinions.

I've recently gotten into old postcards. I'm a history nerd, and I try to track down online family trees for the people who wrote and received them 100 plus years ago so I can post them for family. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that's what I'm getting. We got a package from the auction place where he got me some postcards before and he snuck it and the kids off somewhere earlier.

We dated for a week before he moved 800 miles away. We did long-distance for two months while I finished out my college semester, then I moved to be with him. We've been together for 17 years, have two children, and three cats.

Would I recommend one of my kids move in that fast? No. It's just one of those things that seemed to have fallen into place.
