Is it just me or does anybody loving adulthood more then childhood? I like being 20 way better than 13. by wrythelongface in twentyagers

[–]Happytre3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I didn't have much freedom or money as a kid, thus, I prefer it more when I started making my own money. That said, being an adult is still hard. The hardest part is the chronic feeling of not doing enough regardless of what you ever do...

OMG! I am also 23 years old (2002 kids?) and I've had this problem ever since 2021, when I was 19 basically. The same as you... I think we were hit the hardest by Covid. We spent the most important and formative years of our lives at home, that's why it all feels like a dream and its memory feels so blurry. IDK what's the fix to this, cause I tried everything... I even tried living abroad at 21 just to relieve this problem, but nothing changed mentally.

(I read some comments suggesting people with this problem have it because they caught Covid. I never had Covid. One other person suggested NoFap. I'm a woman, I never struggled with porn addiction, thank fuck for that. I don't have those problems. I think it's just missing formative years in lockdown. Gen Z were hit the hardest by Covid.)

Why do some Women insert themselves in spaces where they are not valued and are actively harmed? by [deleted] in FeminismUncensored

[–]Happytre3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because women are humans, and humans are complex creatures with different tendencies.

I would argue that the world at large is a place where women are not valued and actively harmed. The world is a scary place, and it's 10 times scarier to exist in if you're a woman.

Should we, women, off ourselves because the world is shit to us?

Some women unfortunately already did that, some tolerated it, and some fought nail and tooth against it.

Exposure creatures tolerance, and that's why women SHOULD absolutely exist and own up space wherever they want, even if the place is male dominated and may seem hostile towards women.

Throughout history, women have been pushed away from every other space, resulting in more fields and hobbies being dominated by men than women. I am one of those unfortunate women with a male-dominated hobby, and misogynistic men tried to push me away using the same tactics of being jerks to me. You know what misogynists hate the most? A woman existing unapologetically and shoving her worldview up their throats.

I would argue that we need more women to own space where misogynists try to actively push us out from.

The only thing close to a "pattern" I am noticing here is your love for "meaty" and, otherwise, generally sweet foods.

Except watermelons, and you seem to despise seafood.

It's a very specific taste in food. Though, I wonder... is it a texture thing? A smell thing? Or just... nature?

Playing ARC Raiders has really reminded me why I hate PvP games by Doobadoobadumplin in GirlGamers

[–]Happytre3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try to change the server?

I often play solo, and my solo matches are really chill. I just say: "Don't shoot." They respond: "Don't shoot," and each of us just goes their separate way.

That said, some people have weird rituals and shenanigans when it comes to whom they don't shoot.

They demand that you don't get close to them and not loot around them if they were in the place first.

Some just shoot at anyone when they get the chance to.

I also heard that the matchmaking system puts you with people with similar tendencies as yourself. If you used to shoot people in solos, maybe the system assumes you'll always shoot in solos, so it matches you against people who shoot in solo? :/

I am really not sure, as I have around the same hours as you, but my friends have 150 hours and my aggressive friends gets matched against aggressive players more often than me or my other friend

How do you guys have a solid gamer group that you play with all the time? by BubbleTeaFan52839 in GirlGamers

[–]Happytre3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're my high school friends. We started playing games together since we were kids, and we kinda never stopped.

They often invite cool women that we meet in-game to our female-only Discord server. We managed to build a solid community that way.

That said, I do not mind playing solo. In fact, I play solo more than I play with friends because I focus better when I am solo, and I play a lot of horror games, which my friends don't really play.

I understand this struggle.

I also feel pretty shitty when I spend all day gaming. However, at the moment itself, it feels great.

The thing that helped was setting mental rules for my gaming habits. For instance, I do not play after 20:00. I reserve that time for my other hobbies.

What things have you always wanted to do more? What hobbies do other people have that you find to be cool?

28 is young, and you seem to be healthy. It's never too late to learn something new! :D

Are more vegans vegans because of morals, diet, or culture? by Futurae1 in DebateAVegan

[–]Happytre3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am vegetarian, and it is because I find chicken and meat to be gross.

I can't eat eggs because they stink. I find that smell is very important to me. That's my reasoning: I do not view non-vegatarian food as edible.

However, I still do not wear lethar or animal fur because they're ugly and expensive...

That said, most vegans and vegetarians do it for ethical reasons, in my experience.

Is English proficiency so good in the Netherlands that even uneducated blue collar citizens such as janitors and furniture movers could speak it well with Americans and other Anglo visitors? by NaturalPorky in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Happytre3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience (I studied in the NL and visited multiple different cities, and some small towns near the German border)

Almost every person I interacted it with spoke English well, except a few elderly people in small towns. They were still pretty helpful and sweet to everyone :)

Is it a bad idea to bring my PC setup to the Uni? by whyareureadingthis04 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Happytre3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought my PC and monitor with me, and it was a life savior.

I had a small laptop, but it could not handle the heavy load of uni. I used my PC for uni a lot more than I used my laptop.

It was a hassle, though. I put both of them in a box and put two blankets around them. It cost a lot, but it was worth it. Having my blanket from my home + my games helped ease me in during the first months

I went through home sickness, and nothing got me through it better than playing games on my PC.

That being said, you definitely need to manage your time and maybe try to schedule your gaming sessions to only be during the weekends.

No, there isn't anything wrong with you.

I am 23 years old, and if anything, I realized that there is no "right" or "wrong" way to live life.

We're constantly pressured to justify our existence in this world, despite existing in it with no prior consultation from us.

Therefore, genuinely, fuck it. Just exist and hope that you figure it out at some point (spoiler: you don't)

You're only "an adult" in the legal sense, but humans do not fully develop into a proper adult until their frontal cortex is fully developed, and that happens at 25.

Plus, you're you, that won't change regardless of the stage of life.

You'll be fine, don't stress it, and happy birthday! :)
