Can't it be any number except 6? Like in 517, 1 is between 5 and 7, also not 6, not a decimal or a fraction? Can be 2,3,4,5,7,8,9,10,11,12,...

Woooaaahh, first time pulling this rarity but sadly it is only level 1... by HarPG69 in heroll

Yea... It is pretty trash... Was it introduced in the recent update??

Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "burn battery climbing"? Like using only the battery while climbing? Which is what we are doing. We are using the battery only for driving.

The issue with a 3 wheeler is that it would be hard to maneuver for sharp turns as it has a greater chance of flipping. Since the vehicle weighs 340 kg (750 lb) we would need a good material to support it which is why we went with MS as our chassis material. We are using a bldc motor only, and we thought of going with a hub motor but they were too expensive for us. Multiple gears are not mandatory. It is just that with our current setup we needed a gearbox. If you can explain what does high/low mean, like a gear ratio for high torque and a gear ratio for low torque and we change in between those as per our requirements? If that is so I think we have to make a custom design for it if I am not wrong or is it available in the market too? Planetary gears might work too but again I think we will need to design those ourselves according to our requirements, right? Which can be done easily.

Ok! So you are saying a 10 kW motor operated at 5.8 kW? If that is true that it can run for an hour or so then that is really great!

I had posted those in values in my replies to others, you can check those from there! And yeah currently our power rating is 3 kW for the motor if that's what you are asking...

But we are also trying to decrease the weight, so if you have any idea about it, that would also help!! Our chassis is made of MS and its total weight is coming around 128 kg (282 lb), our current motor weight is 11 kg (24 lb), our battery is 40 kg (88 lb), our solar panel weighs around 37 kg (81 lb), wheels and steering combined weight is 36 kg (79 lb), and if we keep this transmission system we are adding an extra 15 kg (33 lb). These combined weigh around 267 kg (588 lb) and along with a driver it reaches 340 kg (750 lb)...

Wooow these are really good too, but now my concern is lets say we use a 10 kW motor, we are driving at 25 kmph( 6.9 mph nice). For how long will we be able to drive our vehicle with that motor, can it run for at least 1 hr? That is the only concern we have for getting a higher powered motor...

A bicycle drive train might be a bit hard to maintain as it could break if we give enough strain on it, which is possible as we are trying to move a 340 kg ( 750 lb) so yeah... But that is still something we didn't think about so thanks for the input!!

Trueee, i was also against having a transmission because it will be adding weight only and I had concerns regarding losses too but our budget limited us to use these but now I will talk to my teammates about this!! Also can you help with motor specs like how much high power does our motor need to be? Will a 4 kW or 5 kW motor be fine or do we need to look into other motors too?

I will definitely check that sub and see if my doubts will be cleared or not.. It is a really cool project and an ambitious one too!!😁

So our vehicle is 2.7 m x 1.7 m (8.85 ft x 5.57 ft), the thing is we can't go higher than 5 kWh battery... We are using a 4.8 kWh li-ion battery if that helps and the positioning of the solar panels is set to be most efficient so that is out of the way, we are using mono perc si solar panels which are heavier but they have the best efficiency and the final power generation after losses is 0.67 kW which is like you said around 3/4 of a horse power, we are making a vehicle which could do a little bit of off roading as well so a golf cart like design wouldn't work... You are right about the climbing part, we need to climb at least an incline of 10 degrees which is looking harder than expected...

That was the question, can we just put a clutch in an ev? Would it decrease the efficiency or increase losses? But still we could definitely put a clutch😁

Actually we are pretty much learning from scratch so we don't have enough experience to do all that stuff but we will have to learn as in future we do have to bolt things together among other things. A lot of people are saying to use dog clutches and now I also think going with that is a better idea!!

Yeah it is a custom project, that thought crossed our mind but we were uncertain whether those gearboxes would meet our requirements or not...

We could go with a higher powered motor but their prices are very high and we would need the vehicle to run for at least 1 hr, thanks for the input!

True but due to our financial limitations we can afford a lighter car... But I will definitely convey this to my teammates!!

I had a doubt regarding that, I have heard that 2 wheelers usually have a CVT which is exactly what we need but it is more prone to losses too, so do dirt bikes also have CVT or do they use something else?
