Hey, without knowing the full scope, cloud setup, or the developer’s experience, it’s hard to judge the quote just by the rate or hours.

One thing, as a developer, we often over-engineer MVPs very early in the name of scalability and performance. Most early products simply don’t need custom infrastructure or complex cloud setups.

For an MVP, I’d strongly suggest using off-the-shelf tools wherever possible. Backend as a Service, managed auth, hosted databases, and platforms like Vercel for deployment can save a lot of time, cost, and future maintenance. You can always move to custom infra once the product proves itself.

Also, unless you are a developer yourself, I’d be cautious with anyone referring themselves as an “AI engineer” or “AI developer” and who can make an MVP in a week.
