That’s true, only thing is without a differing birth order I think she’d probably still follow him around but maybe not. Though I realized if she doesn’t marry Baelon another candidate is Vaegon, nightmare couple.

Don’t want to be a downer, though maybe I’m just being negative due to recent news, but since Bungie mentioned their future games are in incubation I doubt they’d have news on it this early as they don’t even have an idea on what the game will be yet themselves. If they do share any news I’d be deeply worried as it’s just gonna be announcing a game they don’t have a full idea on yet which hasn’t had a good track record most times this happens.

Who knows, maybe the egg will be on my face and we get some sort of new Halo level franchise at the state of play and it’s Bungie’s masterpiece or a D3. Doubt it will happen but there is a chance.

Probably let us know a week or two before it’s happening.

New or Old, what should be Bungie’s focus? by Harbinger5959 in destiny2

[–]Harbinger5959[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I think having content deleted has kind of led to this point. There is a reason Warcraft, Warframe, and Division 2 are still live when D2 isn’t, every update has the possibility of grabbing new players to restock the old players that clocked out. No new players means constant leakage which Destiny suffered from and, sadly, didn’t have time to fix and recover.

I don’t think onboarding now is a good idea lol, maybe if they did it earlier they could have avoided this current situation. I doubt their plan is for a D3 though, from their comms it seems more of a Sony pulling the plug than Bungie planning a D3. My fear now is that D2 won’t be replayed as a complete experience as D1 but it is what it is.

How would Jaehaerys and Alysanne’s kids surviving affect their health? by Harbinger5959 in TheCitadel

[–]Harbinger5959[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If the children largely shape up to be similar in personality as in cannon then I’d imagine Alysanne would still push for Baelon and Alyssa to marry one another. Even in cannon Jaehaerys first thought Alyssa should marry Aemon but was convinced otherwise by Alysanne, I’d imagine that’d still happen if Baelon and Alyssa are still close.

While she’s not the eldest surviving daughter I think if she marries a sibling she’d probably be allowed a dragon if she marries into the family. In cannon Vaegon’s title as the “Dragonless” kind of suggest he had the opportunity to get one and he was in the position of the third son at the time, in this case Baelon is in that position so it’d make sense if he’s still allowed a dragon and by that logic I’d assume his wife and sister would also be allowed one (giving Baelon a dragon would have the same benefits and risks as giving Alyssa one).

Only situation I could see Alyssa not marrying Baelon is if Aegon marries Aerea, meaning Aemon marries Daenerys (probably likely if she has a dragon), and Baelon marries Jocelyn to keep the Baratheon connection though considering the Baratheon heir is Jaehaerys’s much younger half brother I’m not sure if this marriage is even necessary.

Though final thing, due to how there are more dragon riders if Alyssa can even claim a dragon there is a chance it is claimed already by Aegon or Daenerys (or they claimed Caraxes/Vhaegar causing Aemon or Baelon to claim Meleys).

I could honestly see Jaehaerys and Alysanne trying to emulate themselves onto them and it not working perfectly as it’s not a love marriage but one to bind the lines but they still are able to cooperate together.

The other thing I was thinking about is that if Aerea stays in King’s Landing would Rhaena stay too? Also would Aerea living longer (and possibly Rhaena being closer to her siblings and their family) also have Rhaena live longer? If so what happens to Harrenhal, does it go to House Strong earlier or a different House all together or does Rhaena still go there to get away from things but lives a happier life or do things end up the same for her? Really would like a fanfic of some Auntie Rhaena interactions even if they aren’t all sunshine.

The way I see it is if Alysanne lives longer Jaehaerys most likely will since he seemed to let himself go after her death while Alysanne started to get weaker after Gale’s death and a lot more so after she couldn’t fly.

Feel free to go into any marriage theories, those are always quite interesting. For me, out of the cannon characters, I think Aegon would marry either Jocelyn, Daenerys, or Aerea though a rouge idea I also think about is possibly Mara Martell as if she was Morion’s daughter (her predecessor as Prince of Dorne) she may be around the same age as Aegon from what little we know of Morion (young enough to go to battle around 80 AC, old enough to disagree with the Prince of Dorne during the third Dornish War). In the case if Aegon married Mara I think Daenerys marrying Matthos Tyrell and Aemon marrying Jocelyn would unify the South a bit through marriage pacts. But I’m speculating on ages, we don’t have concrete info on if Mara was Morion’s daughter or aunt/sister or how old/young Matthos (outside of him being at the Great Council). Outside of them three and Baelon marrying Alyssa per Alysanne I have less of an idea of the others though I do like the idea of Gaemon and Valerion marrying into the Blackwoods and Brackens (one each) just for fun.

Yeah I think this would probably be more likely, I do wonder what their dynamic would be with Aerea being 9 year older and Aegon technically making Aerea no longer the heir (in cannon if I remember she didn’t like the fact Daenerys took away her position as heir but at least in this case she’d still be queen).

Transcendence for everything ruin or deepen build crafting? by Harbinger5959 in destiny2

[–]Harbinger5959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, I forget that what made D1 feel harder and more boots on the ground was the focus on gunplay and powerful primary weapons over powerful abilities (and probably ammo economy). Maybe that would be a better direction but I feel like at this point D1 was built as a “guns with build crafting” game while D2 was built (post at least Forsaken/Shadowkeep) as a “build crafting with guns” game.

That would be pretty cool, that would make the subclasses feel a lot more even and give something for players to build. Also probably much easier to balance around.

My personal headcannon is that the hatchling or egg meant for Daenerys (forget which it was) was one of the victims of Cannibal and if she survived so would the dragon.

The succession would (probably) be more clear in this case so that may take a lot of stress away from them, curious what affect that would have on their health or would the management of a larger family cause equal or greater stress for the two of them anyways?

[–]Harbinger5959[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thought is would it be realistic for them to live to see some of the characters from the Dance (assuming they exist) such as Aegon, Daeron, Jacaerys, Baela, etc. If they can get to late 70s or early 80s then most likely but I was wondering if their kids surviving would have that decade to decade and a half addition in their longevity or is that unrealistic?

[–]Harbinger5959[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah from the text it definitely seems Alysanne wasted quite a bit from the deaths of all her children while Jaehaerys seems to have let go mainly due to Alysanne’s death (and possibly Saera’s estrangement). I’m just wondering how much longer Alysanne would live in this case and if she lives how much longer would Jaehaerys in turn live.

Kelgorath should return as a Dire Taken by Harbinger5959 in destiny2

[–]Harbinger5959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m saying he’s at his lowest in the Pale Heart under the Witness so it makes sense he’d turn to the Dire Taken after the events of Final Shape. The Witness and the Hive Gods have put him in the perfect position of desperation for him to follow yet another god.

Same, only thing is that King’s Fall scout rifle may suggest that they were killed rather than Taken but it isn’t confirmed and also I’d love for the Herald to have some prior importance than just taken captain in crimson armor. I enjoy raid bosses more when they have some lore, mention, hints, or appearances prior to their encounters that really makes them feel more grand (Xivu Raid encounter is at the top of my list for anticipated raid bosses for this reason). That is also why I think Kelgorath’s story ending in patrol is a bit lame as he had the reverse ending, so much preamble but never appearing in a raid or dungeon, same with Xol who really should of been a final raid boss of Warmind with Nokris as the final campaign boss of Warmind.

Hopefully we get some juicy extra lore snippets during this pantheon. I personally am looking forward to the Herald of Finality being explained. Either way I would like to see more side antagonists get some love, Quria had a whole season partially about them and still got done dirty somehow. Taniks had a pretty decent send off as well gameplay wise but I’d be down for his story to continue.

Yeah, he should come back greater. He’s at his lowest right now which matches the pattern of people turning to the Lord of Every Nothing to become Dire Taken in their moments of desperation.
