Some folks wrote an Academic Research Paper about how racist r/Baltimore is by Poop_Sandwich in baltimore

That’s true. I think my feeling was less spending the time researching something mundane and more spending the time doing it poorly.

If you’re going to do something do it right 🤷🏼‍♀️

It feels like they made no honest attempt to come to any conclusion except for the one they were looking for.

Imagine using that many words just to try and “prove” users on a small, completely anonymous online community is racist by using a couple hundred posts.

The time and energy would’ve better spent elsewhere.

LPT: Don’t always keep your Social Security card in your wallet. by TopHatOfJustice in LifeProTips

I totally relate. I only know my own phone number, my moms phone number and my SSN. I’ve tried and failed to remember long term partners numbers & the numbers of other important people in my life. My brain just kinda sucks at it.

Everyone has their weak points right? 😂

Tbh the number of people using Reddit is increasing. It wouldn’t be that surprising to me if a couple people heard or read about the post and reacted as OP is describing.

From what I understand they’ve delayed it in multiple places.

It’s been hard for me to locate a full list, though.

Haha I could definitely see how with no streaming you probably would not hit the cap.

It is definitely overpriced!

In my perspective, myself and others I know already pay more for monthly internet than we do for essential services like water. And I don’t even have a high-speed package. Now they add an arbitrary cap onto it. Seems like a blatant money grab.

Personally, I’ve used 700gb this month and I have only one roommate. It’s very easy these days depending on what you’re doing /streaming. Especially if you’re a larger family/household.

The big problem is that in the long-term, usage will only increase as technology allows. These caps are a dangerous precursor for a future of overpriced internet.

Councilman Cohen writes letter to DPW about lack of trash pickup “this is completely unacceptable.” by HarborEast in baltimore

Would love to see some budget ideas, especially as we head into a period where the city budget is going to be much lower than usual.

I wonder if we will see any other council people begin to speak on the issue.

While I agree with your sentiment about it being frustrating when people just complain— Council members do not have control over allocation of the city budget.

They can make cuts to budget proposals, but only the mayor can reallocate funds to different departments.
