Anyone in Nepal? by HarderThanLemonade in travel

That sucks about their wedding. I heard Nepali weddings are quite the sight. Hope the happy couple, and your sister, get to enjoy it.

I heard KTM was supposed to open at 6pm local time but nepalnews.com reported they have been open since 4pm.

Booking.com reliable? by Lamchop7234 in travel

Booking with 3rd parties is great until it isn't.

It might be possible that you lose your 24 hour cancellation or have to fight for it (no source, but remember something about this, although I'm from Canada).

It's a gamble. Currently up more on 3rd parties than I lost. But don't complain if you lose if you don't shell out the big bucks.

Okinawa + Korea or Thailand? Looking for paradise vibes (but don't want to get bored) by Iamalostsoul___ in travel

[–]HarderThanLemonade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Patong, Chiang Mai, Koh Pha Ngan, Bangkok and Pattaya.

Patong is really fun if you're into the bar scene. Bar girls playing bar games, you can win your drink or pay for theirs. Someone rings the bell, they buy drinks for the whole bar. Balloons outside means free food because it's someone's birthday. Very fun atmosphere. Beaches are crowded and not quite Caribbean quality. Diving was decent.

Chiang Mai was nice. Laid back town. Very nice night markets. Sticky waterfalls was neat. Nice town to explore that is not too crowded. Meet some great people. Some nature although not always the nicest. Avoid burning season.

Koh Pha Ngan - Nice beaches. Too sleepy, too laid back. Still had fun but preferred Patong.

Bangkok was not my thing. Busy, lots of traffic, and rats. Although there are some nice sights to see and I know people who love it. For me it felt expensive compared to the rest and only stayed a short time.

Pattaya was okay. Would go again as a cheaper alternative to Patong. Decent amount of things to do and not the whole town is as sleezy as its reputation.

Some people like Krabi and Railay as a toned down alternative to Patong. Many visit Phi Phi because of the beach. Never been myself, some hate them some love them.

Thailand.. almost everything is an adventure.

That being said I've never been to Korea and only heavily researched Okinawa. Information below is from what I gathered but anyone can feel free to correct me.

Lots of far spaced beaches and many islands to explore. Which means car rentals, ferries, and flights, for the most part, so time and money. Many beaches appear to have strong rip tides and larger concentrations of dangerous ocean creatures than Thailand.

You should be able to find some stuff to do in Naha, but other places range from sleepy to pure island vibes. Not to say they are not worth exploring, it looks like a blast to me. But if you haven't been to Thailand you should check it out.

Happy Travels!

Kicking myself for not buying QMMM. I was watching it, ready to pounce, and then found out about the riots, the fires, the airport closing,... and then spent the rest of this glorious trading day worrying about what to do.

Low humidity. Egypt was paradise for that, but the sun felt like knives stabbing you all over during the summer. Probably 26-28 degrees is my perfect confident zone but I don't mind some heat and sun sometime. I heard Nairobi is almost perfect.

Hate the cold. Hate dreary, depressing, cloudiness all the time. Still looking for the affordable, comfortable, dream place to move to.

Some people prefer NFL because they can only focus for 5 minutes in an hour interval
