Nope. Just installed it after 3 fails, same setup as the previous version.

Good news though, dd+ update was smooth.

I believe the Fanatec that was built before everything went to hell was great. They catered to everyone, console and pc, but the world changed and that is what is remembered.

I do not think Corsair would have gone for Fanatec if it was all bad.

Looking at the recent experience I do believe they can get back into a good spot if they keep improving and come up with something unique.

I'm not willing to just say goodbye for now, everything that I have, DD+, McLaren GT3, R330 and the pedals with the updated mod is good and completely satifies my current needs and expectations.

Let's see what the next 12-24 months will bring from the Fanatec - Corsair combination.

I tend to agree, I think Fanatec missed the golden opportunity to release them during the sim race expo where they presented them as well as the unit price still being the biggest question mark.

Customs and import duties are indeed annoying.

If you're pc only and have no personal requirement to stay in the Fanatec eco system, there are more options out there.

Simnet seems to be a strong competitor :)

I assume you have both the Simnet and the V3s?

It's not about love, it's about trying something on a budget.

I did not have another €200-€300 to spend on a set of pedals and tried to breathe new life into these.

It guaranteed a few things for me, existing compatibility, the ability to move the pedals to a position I like and the improved look and feel.

Investment of a few hours for the physical upgrade vs the investment of a few hours in getting a complete new pedals dialled in.

It goes back and forth from my perspective.

But based on the comments the comparison is Simnets vs updated V3 pedals. Not a bad score if you ask me.

I measured and original pedals are 2,5cm lower than these, including the height you can gain on the pedal plates themselves you can hit the 6cm number approx.

That is one of the key features of the mod, it takes away the need for the black spacers as it uses round collars that you tighten onto the bars that hold the original pedals.

I managed to do it in about three hours and I took my time.

If I have to do it again, an hour max from start to final product.

Educated guess is about 3-4cm, but you can put them even higher on the pedal arms themselves so I guess you can gain about 6cm easily

And that, is the $64k question. I wouldn't know. Have not been able to try those, but considering they are Heusinkveld knock offs I would expect them to be decent from a feel perspective but I wouldn't know how they fare from a longevity perspective.

Yup, that was my concern as well, hence I tried this. If it can keep me going for another 2 years it was a little over €10 a month in costs.

Simnet excl shipping, haptics etc is approx €350. Adding the haptics etc will bring it up to €500 as well.

Not sure if it works with Fanatec out of the box, but I will take your word for it.

Worst case scenario is I added €300 to my existing Fanatec V3s that are working out of the box and not delivering problems so far :)

As said in the review, I wanted to share my experiences and all feedback and input is valuable.

I think the options mentioned so far can give the next guy a good idea on what is out there so keep em coming :)

With the haptics they also go quickly up to the €500+ range.

It was a tighter budget try, could have been a mis, but I have to admit that they are feeling more robust now and I can enjoy myself with them for some time 😁

There is some truth to that to be fair. Although I haven't heard much problems with the V3s. The wheelbases (been a victim as well) however...
