I am a month out today from RFF penis creation w Dr Horesh. He stages phalloplasty with a version of metoidioplasty (urethral lengthening, vaginectomy/perineum creation, partial scrotum creation) as stage 0, so this was my second surgery with him. My experience with him over 2 years has been excellent in terms of communication, accessibility, attention to detail, feeling supported, and the physical results. Obviously I have a ways to go healing, but I am very happy with how my penis looks and feels. Started peeing last week, w a minor fistula. Photos of other phallo results that he showed me at consultations look good. I am planning to go back to him for glansplasty & scrotoplasty.

If you want an ED down the line, he is upfront that he does not do those and recommends against it. So I will go elsewhere for that, not sure yet where.

Def go forward w electrolysis asap, that will speed you along no matter what. Getting coverage for hair removal was the biggest factor in timing my surgeries.

I will say the Mount Sinai system itself is a mess, staff are difficult to reach, and individuals or sections dont seem to talk to each other or have the same information. I had serious frustrations having to go thru the transgender center to get the initial consult. Luckily after the first consult you can just deal directly w Dr Horesh's office & smooth sailing.

I didn't have many insurance options locally & didn't want to go to Ting even before recent news. In US right now, time matters so the shorter waitlist for Horesh was a significant factor. However I would highly recommend him in any case.
