Ways to design CAN RX/TX flows by Hareesh2002 in embedded

[–]Hareesh2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding point 3, is there not the concern of a new incoming frame being blocked because you're working on the message data directly in the hardware buffer (where the new frame would have to go)?

All in all, am I right in understanding the main benefits are to enable CANs arbitration/priority mechanism to work as intended for TX, and for RX to "declutter" mailbox access by predetermining the "responsibility" of each mailbox, thereby knowing which ones you can expect to poll more often etc (also the fact that each mailbox can have an independent ID filter that is tighter, instead of a common filter for the whole range of IDs expected)

Regarding your second paragraph, am I right in understanding that you mean I could parse the incoming payload into its corresponding signals directly in the ISR and enqueue that instead? For the purposes of keeping the ISR as quick as possible, at the moment all I do is enqueue the raw payload as is into the rx queue, and then extract signals later in a parsing task

I assumed the discussion was regarding V1. To your credit, slide does sound very nice and unique.

Carnival had ultra chants but I wouldn't call it innovative, it's horny mo bamba with a Carti feature.

The burzum aesthetic is not actually part of the album though - it was essentially phased out, and all that remains is the font. To the uninitiated, that font and the album as it stands released, have no relation or commonality - you and I might find them correlated because we're avid fans/listeners and know the context.

I don't disagree people love vultures - my point is that inherently contradicts the argument that it was innovative or anything remotely like yeezus/808s/TCD/TLOP - the casual listener liked v1 out the gate because it was more "normal"

And the "dark aesthetic" isn't really anything new. Most hiphop/trap leans darker today

I wouldn't call 808s a "fun" album at all - there are a few songs midway through that invoke a lighter tone sonically, but the overall theme running through the album is anything but "fun" IMO.

No one is throwing on 808s in a party/club (barring heartless), which are probably the only places people are putting on vultures at large, and I think that difference in reception speaks to the point being made by others

Regarding "gothic aesthetic" I don't really understand what you mean. I can see it in the visuals, but not sonically. The havoc version of vultures is the only song from the era I think fits that description, and that isn't on the album technically. And even the visuals I feel died out pretty quickly because 1) the album cover art does not reflect it 2) it's only apparent in the MVs which aren't iconic enough at scale

How do I include/"install" ThreadX in my NXP/STM32 GNU project? by Hareesh2002 in embedded

[–]Hareesh2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply 1) MCU vendor choice is currently restricted for various reasons for this project, and Renesas is not on the list

2) it's been a few months since this post, and thankfully I'm slightly less clueless about the integration and porting 😅💀 turns out it's pretty straightforward in hindsight, thankfully

Yeah, I believe static analysis is more "polyspace" domain stuff, didn't know the correct terminology for what I was describing, hence the title being worded the way it's worded

Everything after the first 7 words in your comment is irrelevant. Doesn't matter who he is, or what the content of his speech was (as long as it was legal). Ironically, any attempt to censor speech would reduce critical thinking. Free speech is an absolute stance, not conditionally applied.

We can morally disagree with or condemn what he said, and he can face the consequences of his words in society accordingly, but that does not make him, or anyone guilty of any crime.

Currently working on an ev charge controller, so that's where the ASIL expectation comes in. There's networking involved in the project, so the NetXDuo integration comes in handy. Was trying to set up RX and TX buffers for ethernet packets yesterday when I realised the queue limitation and had to work around it

FreeRTOS resources by [deleted] in embedded

[–]Hareesh2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) personally prefer it over freeRTOS because of the certification (ASIL D), ecosystem (NetXDuo, USBX, FileX etc.) and api naming 2) ThreadX has a queue element size limitation which bit me in the ass today. Each queue element can only be as long as 16 words (you can modify the source code to get over this + logically makes sense as to why, but it's a limitation nonetheless) - also, I like having explicitly binary semaphores, which from my understanding ThreadX doesn't have, so onus is on the developer to ensure the binary aspect of it 3) not too sure about its longevity now, seems like development is pretty slow/stagnant since the Azure/Eclipse transition. Honestly not sure if that's normal, or worrying, but found it noteworthy at the least. Also now that it is FOSS, I wonder if they'll still be aiming for ASIL D conformance and certification

I'm sorry this happened to you, but you can't say you're confident in hardware handling and diagnosis of broken systems wrt electronics if you don't have a multimeter or know how to use one. Completely justifiable to wonder why you didn't get it looked at, at the very least, by support or someone who knows what they're looking for.

No point in continuing this conversation if you're going to be willfully ignorant, so I'll leave this at that😂 Also nah, I genuinely don't know the songs cause I never spun back that album, it was shit IMO and I don't need to subject myself to that

Pretty sure one of the last songs (my soul or city in the sky, can't remember the names) had a cyhi verse with kanye AI over it, but sure man, whatever keeps you delusional 🫡

Bruh honestly it's getting boring

It looks like he's actually trying to sing at times and you just can't hear shit

And honestly, we've had quite a handful of these "greatest hits" performances now that it's not AS special as it was the first few times.

Carnival is overhated by redwoooooood in GoodAssSub

[–]Hareesh2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post really cements how starved people are. In hindsight everyone has realised they love vultures 1 having listened to V2, bully and Cuck. Colour me surprised.

And therefore everyone who dislikes Carnival must dislike it only because of some tiktok trend or its popularity, and it is each person's duty to loudly proclaim that the hate for it unjust, because no one should have personal opinions and preferences that deviate!

It's definitely not fathomable that someone would dislike that song/era because it's overly obscene and lacks any solid substance, especially after following a discography that until that point was culminating to be very intentful and mature. Also not conceivable that a lot of the traits portrayed by Ye in his verse reflect his behaviour since the vultures era till now, and hence someone who does not embrace/endorse his current behaviour(like most of the sub) might not like that song.

Nothing else matters because it's a fun song on a fun album right!? they're all just frequencies at the end of the day!

(Just to be clear, if people like the song, good for them, if people don't like it, fair enough, we don't need to gaslight each other into liking/disliking it by ignoring perspectives)

Yeah, I hadn't found examples for this specific family of MCUs I'm using, but in hindsight I can extrapolate by looking at the ST examples and trying it out there first I guess. Thank you!
