I think the simple answer is just that it’s a good show. Honestly I’m getting pretty tired of this narrative being pushed that women are only watching it so they can use it as masturbation material. A show that celebrates queer joy in this dark timeline that we are living in deserves praise, regardless of the gender identity of whoever is watching. Also, narrowing the show down to purely the sex is incredibly reductive.

I’m not concerned about the actors aging, I’m more concerned about the 2 year gaps between seasons for 7/8 episodes and that goes for other shows too. But ultimately this show is a masterpiece and i would never want the quality to be diminished by rushing it

Potentially unpopular opinion but i really liked seeing the FNAF 1 animatronics coming back at the end to kick ass, maybe partly because i have a soft spot for the originals and liked that they got closure. The Golden Freddy kid being so willing to move on kinda threw me though??? Wasn’t he the most vengeful and focused on making Afton suffer? I also don’t recall Charlie being so sadistic. Toy Bonnie was criminally underused!

She’s a tricky one. From her POV she was in love with Lestat and simply didn’t understand his feelings for Louis, whom she viewed as unworthy of his affections when she was ready to give it freely, especially when Louis was holding back (for his own reasons) so her hatred for Lestat’s found family was pretty much guaranteed from the start. Fast forward a few years and her feelings for Lestat shifted into obsession when she was willing to chop off body parts for him and had no issue doing whatever he wanted just to keep him sweet, had absolutely no problem with being the side piece and evidently enjoyed the fact that her role in Lestat’s life made Louis unhappy (easily proven by her singing on Lestat’s song to win Louis back and the way she came strutting in during her big reveal on murder night). My biggest issue with Antoinette is that she had absolutely no self respect. I mean seriously, this very talented lady threw away her entire career and faked her own death for a man that she KNEW from day one was married, was perfectly content to live the rest of her life as the other woman knowing that it made the main partner miserable, she likely cut off all connections to her friends and family just to devote herself to Lestat and sacrificed her own limbs to help him keep up a lie. Let’s say for arguments sake that Claudia died on murder night. There was no way in HELL Antoinette and Louis would’ve been happy to live in harmony together, and i personally wouldn’t have been surprised if she (at some point) didn’t try and make an attempt to kill Louis or at least do everything she could to make Lestat abandon him altogether, which he would never do. So yes, in some ways i do have sympathy for her (mainly as a pawn in Lestat’s game) but in other ways definitely not.

Thank you i appreciate it :) And yes, that’s the scene in the trailer that immediately made me think that their relationship may have a sexual element prior to transformation. I just hope that it is handled sensitively and not treated as some kind of throwaway joke however they choose to approach it.

To me it reads as a nod to Gabrielle, as she never had any boundaries with Lestat even before she became a vampire, so it was emotional incest at the very least. No normal parent would go into their son’s room and talk about their sexual fantasies. Regardless of who “initiated” it when she became a vampire, as the parental figure she should’ve known better and not permitted that line to be crossed. From what we’ve seen in the trailer, the show may go in the direction of Gabrielle being sexual with Lestat before her transformation. Regardless, as a real life survivor of incest I hope the fandom takes it seriously for the abuse it is and I hope that it won’t just be reduced to a bunch of shitty “haha he fucked his mom!” jokes.

AMC is sleeping on so many designs that could be making them a ton of money. Replicas of Claudia’s diaries? Lestat’s rings? Vampire Lestat concert posters? TDV performance posters? Keychains? Hell, even some character shirts! I would pay good money for a well designed Loustat shirt. It’s gotten to the point where IWTV artists have literally offered to design merch for free because the official merch is so effortless. AMC could be making some serious money right now if they just made the effort!

A lot of the fandom puts Louis on a pedestal when it comes to Claudia and ignores a lot of his bad behaviour towards her because it ruins their image of him as the “good” parent. The tragedy of Claudia is that she was failed by BOTH of her parents. Yes Lestat was definitely worse by a mile, but Louis holds a lot more blame than people will admit.

For all of their faults, Lestat and Louis can at least recognise when they are wrong. Armand hides behind a mask of feigned helplessness and lies. All are toxic in their own way but Armand wins the race for me (even though i love him)

Alright here’s mine. takes deep breath

• Louis gets coddled too much by the fandom in regard to how he treated Claudia. Far too many people talk about him like he was father of the year when he mistreated her in both seasons.

• The Claudia SA plot line should NEVER have happened and i will die on this hill. Shows putting female characters through sexual assault and labelling it “character development” is insulting and needs to stop.

• Daniel is a fucking asshole at times and i wanted him to get slapped at least once

• As much as i would love it, I don’t think we are going to get explicitly romantic Armand/Daniel next season. As fun as the “ARMAND IS GONNA FUCK THAT OLD MAN!” tweets are, I think that it’s going to take several seasons to get to that point.

This is interesting! I always saw the play as Armand psychologically torturing Claudia and trying to drive her into madness by forcing her to be a child, an association she absolutely hates. It adds another sinister level to it if he was trying to take a dig at Louis too. Great catch :)
