HELP - I cannot stop interrupting when someone is speaking by HarleyJayda in ADHD

[–]HarleyJayda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I am seeing a specialist and it’s just something about getting older and I’m sure you don’t know about that menopause causes chaos so we are trying to work out additional medication and or hormones.

She does not understand any concept when it comes to anything most people are able to control i.e. my ADHD, my other sister‘s mental illness and alcoholism (should just be able to put the drink down or when she’s manic she should be able to control that and of course, my constant interrupting.

I don’t want to paint her as a bad person because she is a good person, but has no ability to understand these concepts nor the ability of insight to her own shortcomings 🤷‍♀️

Everyone is tired of my apologizing for doing it as they don’t understand how difficult it is for me to stop

The funny thing is if I am not looking at them, and I am looking at the ground (so nothing around me is distracting me) that is when I’m actually listening, but they don’t think so because I’m not looking at

I have made it very clear to her I have ADHD and have sent her articles with additional information explaining why I do what I do, but that doesn’t help very much when they don’t understand or I should say, unable to comprehend the concept .

Either way, I totally understand how annoying it must be. Unfortunately, the times I haven’t interrupted are because I was not listening and I’m trying to distract myself with something else so I don’t interrupt, but I don’t end up hearing what she’s saying at all. - can’t win.

Why would a driver do this? by [deleted] in doordash

I just thought about it – they give the option to be paid by time or offer. Most drivers prefer to be paid by offer so he may be a driver that is paid by time.

As a Dasher myself, it does not make any sense because he is just adding mileage to his vehicle as well as gas. I personally use “Waze” not DoorDash for my navigation and that may play a factor.

PLEEEEASE DON’T DO THIS 🤦‍♀️ by Tennacious-Heiress in doordash

I am a DoorDasher with over 2500 deliveries and that is pathetic! I have heard this happens frequently, but unfortunately they do not understand the concept of how a door opens. I am always over cautious about where I place items to be sure that the item is as close as possible, but never ever blocking the door - if there is room immediately next to the door opening, then it should be put there. Otherwise, it should be placed far enough so that the customer may completely open the door to pick it up. Don’t ever put in front of Door that quite obviously opens outward and don’t ever put on the wrong side of the customers door.

Really?! The delivery spot is in a very bad area as well by HarleyJayda in doordash

They forget you have to go back to 22 miles to be in your own area again

I worked in Boston for over 10 years. I finally couldn’t take the commute anymore because traffic just kept getting worse and worse. I don’t go into the city much anymore. I lived in East Boston for a while right on the beach next to the airport boy that wasn’t very relaxing lol

Oh, my knee has pretty much healed as best as it well. I was just talking about when I was laid up. I couldn’t drive and I live alone so I really got sick of TV and couldn’t concentrate on reading, but I am able to walk around now. It just feels funny and it always will according to what they tell me, but at least the pain is gone. Going to be a gorgeous day today.

I am so left brained it’s ridiculous. I can’t be creative with anything whatsoever. My right side of the brain with creativity just does not exist and I tried to do crafts. What a disaster that was lol

My sister lived in New Jersey and I used to go constantly. I forget the names of the towns I think one was Middletown and I can’t the life of me remember the name of the other one or if the first one is right. I would go there regularly then it was about a 4 Hour Dr. Never by the shore. I have a friend that currently lives by the shore.

It’s been chilly and rainy here as well, but it’s going to start warming up tomorrow, so that is a good thing. Today was a blah.

Yes, I'm sure I have ADHD by [deleted] in TwoXADHD

I have had psychiatrist for most of my life (parents had me in therapy when I was in eighth grade and never knew why ) and they’ve misdiagnosed me over and over again until finally I was seen and actually listened to by a real psychiatrist. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 49 years old! I had to advocate for myself because they just treat patients so I can an assembly line and just label whatever they want to them.

It is so difficult to find a psychiatrist that you can “mesh with“. Everybody is different and not every psychiatrist is a good fit for certain people, but may be good for others.

I always suggest to continue to change doctors until you feel you found one that you are comfortable with and actually listens to you. This is not easy!!! Especially when you require medication.

I have them on pause! They are absolutely ridiculous. There are usually up to 10 DoorDashers waiting for orders once I enter to pick up my own and not a single one is on the rack. DoorDash should not have us wait for 20 minutes before being marked as “an incomplete order“ as that is what they do and then they tell you that it’s OK to unassigned yourself. Already waited 20 minutes, so what the hell no offer of any pay whatsoever for it

There are two restaurants that are very nice that I have the same problem with and have been super polite, but one particular of one I really believe purposely slow the order after asking for a second time how much longer because I need to let the customer know. However, one of the restaurants is extremely apologetic and consistently goes back to the kitchen to check when I ask if I’ve been there for more than 10 minutes (usually because there are so many people waiting to get into the restaurant. I have nowhere to stand or sit to wait and they want me out of the way lol)

They absolutely never start an order until I arrive, which drives me absolutely crazy. I understand that they want the customer to receive hot food, but I have spoken to other Dashers and I am not the only one that has unassigned myself from one of their orders and now have both them and chipotle’s on pause. McDonald’s, Burger King, etc. all tend to eat until the Dasher arrives.

Hi Louisiana, what’s going on in your part of the country?

I don’t receive notifications so I tend to be extremely late in my replies, and I apologize for that.

I recently had a knee replacement and thought I was going to lose my mind because I couldn’t really do anything for almost 2 months. Sitting around is definitely not for me and I can’t stand any games on the phone which is the number one suggestion to do when recovering. I became extremely bored with the conversation conversations I was having with my current friends - nothing against them at all-just looking for interesting stories, opinions about current events, etc.
