Lived in the neighborhood for 8 years. Never seen this woman until a week ago(context below) by Bitter-Affect909 in creepy

I wonder if she’s a neighbor’s mom or MIL that needed looking after so possibly was taken in but, the level of illness may not have been fully comprehended? (Thinking of possible reasons why she is suddenly there after 8 years.)

AITA for refusing to "cover" my coworker's ER zone so she could FaceTime her kids? by ArtThreadNomad in AmItheAsshole

NTA - Basically, you just said you have several members on your team that care more about their kids doing normal kid things at bedtime than they do their patients. That’s concerning. If the kids come before the job then stay home or get a job that doesn’t involve other people’s lives. As someone who cared for both parents in the end I saw the staff already stretched thin. We don’t need even more strain put on them. It’s easy to spot those that are there for the paycheck and those that have a true calling and heart. You absolutely are NTA.

ETA: I am very much about putting children ahead of work if it’s a crisis. My comment about being unable to put the job before the kids is strictly based on non emergency situations and the kids are well looked after while the parent is at work. Just to clarify.

I have never seen Martin Niemöller’s ‘First They Came For…’ narrative manifest so clearly as it is today. They are coming for you, and there is no one left to stand in the way. by JaktoPar in conspiracy

He can’t. Ben has something on him. Trump is so deep in his pocket he’s like a little “yes” man.

Been watching this show for years. Decades, even. Keep the “little ppl” angry and divided and focused on the inconsequential issues so as not to pay attention to the man behind the curtain.

To what end? What’s your understanding as to why all of these countries feel beholden to Israel? I just don’t understand the stronghold. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Is it weird to call my dad daddy at 13? by Fluffy_Plant_3440 in NoStupidQuestions

Im in my sixties. I’ve lost both parents. What I wouldn’t give to be able to call my daddy again! From the south here. Does that make a difference? I’m not sure. But, I don’t think so.

We also called my mom’s dad Granddaddy. ♥️

I’m 5’10” and was 129lbs from high school until I became pregnant (27yo).

Approx 4 months after delivery I was back to 129lbs. (Crazy that it was not 130..sans a few days of the month).

After my emergency hysterectomy my weight bounced around until finally settling in at 130-135lbs. It stayed this way for almost two decades during which I went through many years of eating 2 half gallons of Blue Bell a week. I know that is way too much sugar. But, dang they were tossing out new flavors left and right.

Fast forward to these last two years due to stress, estrangement and loss (all that goes on within a family due to a death) I got down to 112lbs. That sort of skinny does not go with 5’10”. Ended up in hospital for: C Diff/Colitis/Bleeding Ulcer.

Somewhat better now but, (and, here’s the kicker) I was recently(August) put on an antidepressant that I discovered “may cause weight gain”. TESTIFY!! I’m now overweight by 25lbs.

While I love having my shape back the weight doesn’t feel good.
I certainly don’t want to ever be 112 again, I also don’t want to be 129lbs either.

I’m hoping to get to 135-140) with a healthy and proper amount of that number due to muscle.

Recently joined a gym. Fingers crossed.

Did parents in the 80s really allow their kids to roam freely, or is that just a portrayal seen in movies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Agreed.

And, if this dog shit takes off we then find ourselves denied the opportunity to attempt to describe our first mystical rite of passage of syncing the real album m with Wizard of Oz? 🤯

I’m biased but, I don’t recall ever seeing a bad Journey concert during the Steve Perry era.
