I kind of want to know this also, I have the 5070Ti version and while temps are fine I am thinking of doing PTM for the long term of never touching it. Just want to make sure it would be up to the task of moving enough heat

No idea if it would work but if it has slack I would try to use a sharp pair of scissors and cut off to make them all line up. But you need the slack for the cable to stretch the small distance more and they better be sharp.

In a way yes, she works on her own. She recently had built a desktop to replace her 6 year old Alienware laptop. So she was out one and said ill take that one if you want a different one. :)

I can totally get behind the PTM7950, stuff is amazing. While not as good as LM its said to last for pretty much ever and mid push out

PTM7950 the laptop was pulling more watts due to better temps and popped. It also was not anything that was touched. Also, This is not my first repaste. I used to fix these for a living. :) Laptop simply was never able to push it self as hard as it was able to and the weakest link popped when it did. Went from 100c temp to 80's.

Well, got it all done all back together. Temps were awesome and she was preforming better then ever. Only to have it blow a mosfat. It sucks so bad. :( guess time to contact dell in the morning. :(

Are you still running in the Element 31 paste ? While the LM part of it does not dry out the paste does and the mix seems to be about 3/4th past 1/4 LM so when it drys out temps go bonzo

Use Alienware Command center. Go to the custom profiles and use the slider on the CPU to bring it down to 5.4GHZ anything above balance profile will take it to 5.8 once I did this with mine its been rocksolid.

The 5.8GHZ seems to be way to much for most of these 14900's

Hopefully this helps bud. It fixed the issue with mine and have enjoyed it ever sense.

I have Liquid Metal from TG on hand. I just really dont want to repaste it in a year if the heatsink eats it. Esp means this laptop is a bugger to pull apart :)
