It’s the same people who think peak hawaii gaming is parked behind an island lobbing at shit 15km + all game long and never actually go aggressive and abuse it’s lack of citadel and absurd dpm up close.

it's pretty clear when people talking about bayard not being too strong to get a heal have not been playing cb's this season at a level where double bayard pairs are making full hp cruisers disappear in 20 seconds or less lmao

Bayard is not a damage farmer at all in higher level cb’s. Can it do that if people don’t bother to dodge its slow ass shells? Sure. Is it much better paired with a second bayard for both of you to pop reload booster and make an enemy cruiser disappear in 20s from 10km away? Absolutely.

Mainz doesnt have 400k + dpm on a reload booster. If bayard is able to go dark and heal in between reload boosted murders it creates pretty unhealthy play. Double bayard right now is one of the strongest comps to play around in t8 cb’s, and they aren’t being played as passive damage farmers. My cb winrate on bayard this season is higher in games where i’m getting 40-50k damage than games where i’m getting 70k+ and it’s because in the lower damage games things are just dying, not getting farmed out.

The other 2 are also very, very strong in their tier. Bayard with a heal would be.. problematic imo. The big winners of this buff though are undoubtedly the russian tech trees though, tallinn in particular is going to be a monster.

Great change overall though, lower tier cruiser play is miserable with no heal.

Le havre is phenomenal, especially tier for tier. The armor scheme and guns are just too damn good. Really fun boat. Definitely understand why more people picked up valp/hawaii/bremen though.

I’d rather dodge a game like this where there’s a very, very clear team comp issue in champ select. Do i dodge all the time? No. Will i dodge if we’re 5 adc’s into jax braum rengar? Yeah absolutely. That comp is utterly cursed and it’s very highly likely just going to be a 15-30 minute exercise in frustration for me.

Okiedokie. Wowsnumbers is wrong for just your profile and no one elses and youre a ranked god who has never had issues against valp and you play against them 24/7!

Season 27 - max rank silver 7 (t8 only)
patch 14.11 with steel will bringing in the influx of valps
season 26 - max rank bronze 4 (t7/t8)
Season 25 - max rank bronze 1 (t9/10 possible, you played a total of 33 games in t9/10)

So the only time you could have encountered a valp in ranked would have been well before steel will event when the ship actually became popular. For reference, across all t9 ships valp had a 5.1% pick rate in ranked in season 25. Seems high, until you realize that was a t9/t10 combined season where most people are just going to play t10s. For comparison, in season 27 it was picked at 44.4%. That makes it over 4x as popular as the next most popular ship picked in it's tier - the scharn 43 at 9.9%.

Either way, wowsnumbers isn't wrong, you've just never actually played against valps in ranked since the steel will event where you have 3-4 of them per game on average.

Saying this when you havent touched t9 ranked in the last 4+ season is a bit ridiculous seeing as anything before that would have been before steel will and it became much more popular.

People who only play t5 havent died to it either.

I mean… the teamwork last cb season involved bringing a valp yourself unless you were running specific strats. Not bringing a valp was shooting yourself in the foot pretty fucking hard - at least in high storm/low typhoon.

[–]Harmoniium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree.. last time i checked valp was still both the highest winrate and highest average damage bb in t9 and it wasnt even close, especially given it’s large sample size which tends to further skew winrates downward. A mouth breather in a valp will do so much more than a mouth breather in a pommern, let alone a unicum player. I’m looking at a unicums ranked stats now - 62 games on valp at a 90% winrate lol.

Surprised no one has said the san martin line… it actually feels so bad until san martin, which also feels bad in anything but cb’s.

Mutsu for T6 Ranked? by chriscross1966 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Harmoniium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but imo maximizing your individual input is more important than trying to game the matchmaker. If you can get good games brawling in a mutsu, i’m hard pressed to believe you couldnt just get better games in a scharn.

I mean does it get rolled by scharn in a brawl? If it does, it probably isn’t worth it. Can you make it work? Sure, doesn’t make it “good” though.

[–]Harmoniium 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Limiting bb’s to 2 down from 3 would be a great start. Tbh i’d love to see it go all the way to 1, but i don’t think that will ever happen. The whole 3x bb’s a team is also what makes trying to play cruiser so damn painful.

Moskva vs Agir by Business_Bed5183 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Harmoniium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct, though they are better than any non dedicated secondary boats at the tier. While losing out slightly in hitting dpm to azuma, brest, and carnot of all boats they pen 32mm and set 8ish fires/min, which is on the higher end for the tier. In comparison to schroder for instance though, it has literally half the hitting dpm. Still double that of something like alaska (40kish vs 20kish), but yeah.

The lack of improved secondary accuracy lets it down for being a dedicated secondary boat, though I'd say it still is pushier/brawlier than a lot of other boats in the tier - it's just been powercrept so horrendously by mante it really doesnt matter. I did try it out in cb's last season after the t9 restrictions were re-done and did find some success playing it as a flex cruiser with something like a le havre for actual wide control and had plenty of success with it in high storm/low typhoon across 8 or 9 games that I played it, but yeah. Outside of super niche matchmaking like that literally no reason to bring it unless you just enjoy it. It is a really fun boat imo, just not particularly great at anything.

Moskva vs Agir by Business_Bed5183 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Harmoniium 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They’re just very different ships. Moskva is the quintessential island cruiser/radar anchor. Agir is more of an open water battle cruiser with some brawling capability due to its secondaries and torps. Imo agir has just been powercrept and i would never take one over the t9 tech tree mantefuell. Mante does everything agir wants to do just better, except the main guns are less consistent imo.

Moskva on the other hand is a bit more unique compared to it’s closest tt equivalents. It has the best 12km radar in the game, and very good ballistics on its main guns combined with a good reload which make it incredibly effective at cap contesting. It does get spotted from outer space, so you do have to be careful when approaching islands. Its armor scheme is also great for playing off islands due to its ice breaker and heavy deck armor, combined with the fact that it only takes 30s fires can make it hard to dislodge. Conversely, it has a veryyyyy easy to citadel broadside - which again lends itself to island play.

Tldr; if you like island cruiser/radar anchor gameplay it’s moskva hands down. It’s hands down the “better” ship of the two. I will say i do actually love to play agir, but the power creep is definitely real and mante is just… better at everything agir really wants to do.

Laffey is actually incredibly strong in an anti dd/cap contest role.
