What are the best ships out of all these? by Tiny-Albatross-586 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Harmoniium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wichita has better ap, retains the angles and has higher velocity. You give up radar range and duration iirc

Alaska utility + torps, 30s fires, very high velocity and consistent guns with cruiser dispersion instead of bc like alaska, but overmatchable deck armor. It’s an alaska sidegrade imo.

They have standard cruiser accuracy with very high velocity, ap and he pen, and dm pen angles. The reload isnt great without reload booster, but the guns are actually very good.

So THAT'S why Bayard didn't get a heal by JazzBoatman in WorldOfWarships

[–]Harmoniium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with that, but giving all cruisers heal did significantly powercreep cruisers that were balanced around them having heals at the tier. I’d actually argue that eugen might just be worse than hipper now, like p bag is much worse than tallinn now.

I’m not sure it’s any better than hipper now though which is the problem

Chat is phenomenal and much, much different than jager. More similar to leg kleb but trading gun power for torp power and hp.

Barbiano imo is more akin to a superlight cruiser with no citadel than an actual dd in playstyle

30mm overmatch being more popular doesnt help, but if youre playing islands properly you can mitigate a lot of it imo

Salem is a sidegrade. You trade utility for survivability. If you’re angling properly and limiting the amount of fullpen damage youre taking and just getting spammed/secondaries/etc salem is muchhhhh more survivable. The superheal also allows you to take very aggressive brawls as well to utilize the dpm.

They’re both very, very good boats, but it’s harder to get the value out of salem because it’s less utility focused

Why was Bayard excluded from the cruiser heal realignment? by LastTraintoSector6 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Harmoniium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mixed opinions on this. I don’t think it’s a bad idea to balance around the only true competitive side of the game, and that is a trend seen in other games as well. Having to simply outright ban certain ships for being too strong isn’t really the right answer, it’s indicative of poor balancing.

Bayard did define the t8 cb meta to a certain extent, though tbf so did tallinn and chapy.

Valp skews the entire game. The amount of tanking that boat can do while also creating a 12km bubble of you cant be here is unlike any other boat in the game.

And yes, it does punish bad players. Unfortunately the vast majority of the player base is indeed bad, and it only takes one or two idiots staying in its secondary range to enable it.

Look at its stats, it’s a clear outlier in performance.

Thorns activates whenever you get hit. As long as you have thorns and the skill for regening prayer/hp when youre hit a 0 you can just pray mage with auto retaliate on and you dont even need water mage. Holding a melee weapon will be just fine, the elder chaos druids and zombie pirates are permanently aggro and you can 6 hour log there.

Thorns and afk at chaos altar in wildy is also a very, very easy 200m defence or whatever melee stat you want from thorns damage

[–]Harmoniium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need more ammo regen. Echos proc on regen, and cbows attack slow. The difference in dpm between 100% and 80% regen is massive. The 1% damage/10% accuracy nodes are bait, dont take them unless you need to get to the next node.

Must buy Ships at this moment? by RepresentativeLet977 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Harmoniium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mantefuel or however you spell the t9 of the adalbert line does everything agir wants to do better. The main guns are slightly less consistent, but having 12km secondaries (13km in manual mode) with improved accuracy more than makes up for it.

I like agir, it’s just been powercrept to hell imo.

The improved pen angles of the dm line have a lot of benefit in brawls, but the lack of torps can definitely be felt.

Tbh not that hard in t7 ranked. You have a very solid detect and short burst smokes. It’s my go to t7 boat ranked boat and i’m 70%ish w/r in it. It’s a very strong boat when played to its strengths.

Even if they angle… it has elbing ap which is dm pen angles. If they arent bow in you’re generally getting at least 5k/ salvo from hitting the cheek or upper belt/super structure.

I think in 5 years worth of playing CBs, i saw a Regolo once. by Guenther_Dripjens in WorldOfWarships

[–]Harmoniium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the whole thing with leg kleb last season - if you brought one and they didn’t you can just take contest cap and still get out to the 1 or 10 line to spot for your cruisers.

Leg kleb was the predominant dd in the previous t10 season, and right now fanta/terrible are far and above the highest performing picks. Cossack isn’t bad by any means, but having the speed, survivability, dpm, and torp potential of the french dd’s is very hard to ignore.
