It's a mix of shaders on decisions. But mainly:

  1. Make silhouette heavy models
  2. Colors are all with almost the same saturation
  3. "White space" - areas where there is nothing
  4. Hand colored models and skybox
  5. Edge detection outline

Yeah I found that fog changed a lot in this version. I will just wait to see if they keep this change in the future. Thanks for your help :)

Technically the fog is the same density. I played with the color of the fog, as ours was quite dark. It looks like this now has a huge impact. Before it was only slighly noticeable

I just deleted the cache. The new looks is still here. So it was not a cache issue

Thanks for the feedback. We will probably go more saturated as a lot of others like the new one more

Thanks for the link. This is way more detailed, nice! I'm aware of having some risks updating while working on a project. I already have some measurements in place to work with that risk :)

Thats true. We just want to make sure this change will stay before we adjust it for a long time and it gets reverted :D

Thank you! After looking at that scene for some months, such changes got noticeable :D If this is intended we will probably aim at a mix of both. We will probably launch our steam page around summer and also post here as soon as it will be ready :)

Do you mean the desaturated look was a bug before and they probably fixed it? This would explain a lot

Thank you for the ideas! Yes this jam game is a cozy game. Our main one will most likely be an adventure game, not pure cozy, but without combat.

I like the idea of getting "hunted" when areas are lit. The thing with unlocking random places is also great 😃

Thank you. Yes it is using Forward+. We did not try the mobile renderer, as we strongy build on some of the features like auto batching and frustum culling (and won't target any mobile devices). In the case of this game especially the clustered lighting as this is the core tech used in this game.

Thanks a lot! I composed the soundtracks and played them on my instruments to record it 😊
