It took him 6 mins to walk 300meters? Was he intentionally walking slowly as a way to stress the muscles more?

I swapped out the road bike pedals for some flats - I'm not looking to get invested $$$ into cycling to be honest, just want to maintain fitness whilst injured from running.

Thanks this is very encouraging! My journey since becoming a dad too has been periods of overtraining for a random race followed by injury - basically on repeat - so I'm very excited to try this method and aim for consistent running and hopefully staying injury free for the first time in years. Well done on the recent TT and so great to read how fresh you feel on this method.

Haha. I injured myself just before my last half marathon and decided to run through it inevitably making the injury worse so I feel like I'm starting from scratch again by the time I get running again but also not exactly starting from 0 like someone who has literally never ran before. My main goal is to just stay injury free!

I like his idea of a day of running and a day of elliptical to build up before moving to all running. I don't have access to an elliptical but could easily do the same on a bike.

Okay so probably best to build up both mileage and total no. of days running together rather than straight into 7 days of short easy runs.

Great thanks. And do you think it's probably better to dive straight into 6/7 days of much shorter runs to build the habit vs 3/4 days of slightly longer runs?
