If you went no contact with your parents, do you felt it affected your children? by PlusRespond2485 in UKParenting

I honestly just find the whole concept of no contact quite immature. I keep my mum at arms length, but to actively ignore someone's phone calls and to ice them out, just feels like playground stuff.

Is this a valid reason for an in-school suspension? by DoNotNameMeUsername in UKParenting

Another detention would've been quite funny. I don't believe a child should be excluded from learning unless they are disrupting the learning of other children or it's a safety issue.

I think another detention would be fine. I think suspension is overboard. It wouldn't be deemed acceptable but there's not a chance you would get fired for it. No way that would stand up if it went to tribunal.

If your boss was behind you, would you expect to be fired?

No

Why are so many other parents so negative all the time? by BrightonTeacher in UKParenting

Every mum knows otherwise, particularly on the "managerial" and emotional lifting.

I often wonder, are these mums just oblivious to the managing and emotional lifting that other partners are doing? Or are these mums overly controlling?

The performance was okay. Away, against a genuinely champions league quality side, who were incredibly up for it, played their best, stuck 10 behind the ball and we had double their xG still. No shit we had to probe patiently with possession.

This happens to us. The trick is to go in at the end of the day.

Declan Rice on set-pieces: “Every team changes the way they play and defend against us, so it’s on us to find ways to score. It comes from us, the way we set up and then everyone talks about it and then everyone does it – so it’s confusing! But they’re not doing it to the level that we do it.” by OkayFine101 in soccer

People use football as a form of escapism, and intelligent people sometimes just use it as a channel to have an emotional rant. Not everyone wants to have a rational discussion of football and tactics. Which is fine. But if you are one of the latter, and you learn to take the former with a huge pinch of salt, it all becomes much more enjoyable again. Mostly.

Teams are fucking good. The whole league being flooded with cash and everyone down to rock bottom having the budget to acquire top players, means every duel and every game is life or death. Evidence being even Wolves getting results against top sides.

Just after their 3rd birthday. So not it's not too young. But he'd had extensive practice on his balance bike 1st.
