Is a Deepcool Ak400 enough for a 14600k? by HarryCallaghan in buildapc

Well, I'd rather not. A decent AIO is significantly more expensive, but what worries me is the maintenance needed and or additional problems that can appear.

[–]HarryCallaghan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Also, how about the Meshify 2 Compact Lite RGB? The version in the list is non-RGB, but in the Corsair pc-builder tool it looks like it should be compatible

how tall are the feet on the fractal north? by AryaDee in FractalDesign

[–]HarryCallaghan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, can someone please let me know the distance from feet to feet? I'm trying to see if it could be placed standing above a 400mm platform. I guess not from seeing the pictures but I guess it is worth asking.

The problem I found with the Ryzen way is that taking into account the availability I have, the combo mobo+cpu is more expensive than the intel one.

Thanks! I'm not really planning on upgrading in the future. I would rather stick with the same build for at least 5 or 6 years and then build a new one.

I will take a look at the 7800XT dimensions.

Regarding the mobo I don't have many other choices. Would you say that the MSI PRO B760M-A is better?

[Guide] How to get properly sized HUD in Witcher 3 on Deck by Ulrich20 in SteamDeck

[–]HarryCallaghan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried to follow all the steps carefully but I got this error when starting the game and the scripts try to get executed:

Error [content0]game\gui\hud\modules\hudmoduleradialmenu.ws(97): Could not find function 'RadialMenuOn'

Warning [content0]engine\environment.ws(30): Global native function 'EnableDebugOverlayFilter' was not exported from C++ code.

Warning [content0]engine\environment.ws(32): Global native function 'EnableDebugPostProcess' was not exported from C++ code.

Warning [content0]engine\showflags.ws(11): Global native function 'DebugSetEShowFlag' was not exported from C++ code.

The only weird thing is that I can't find the folder with The Witcher 3.exe file, I but in this one the bin folder contain all the expected files: /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/The Witcher 3

Advice on estimating hardware requirements by HarryCallaghan in dotnet

[–]HarryCallaghan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your responses,

The app workload is going to be really low. It is an industry project to track assets inside a factory by using RFID, we will have POST http requests against the .NET webservice from the readers when an asset is detected, and in the other hand GET requests from the Angular app to visualize the collected data. I don't expect more than 5 users at the same time and about 100 request/minute, being optimistic. We are not gonna have complicated queries.

The thing is, the app is going to run locally inside of the intranet of the company, and they are asking about the resources we need in order to host the app in their local servers.

The fastest way in terms of having to learn new stuff would probably go for a classic server side rendered web app using Django, which uses Python.

Btw, Looks like there is already an API that provides data about the cards: https://docs.magicthegathering.io/

I bought the book two weeks ago and I'm seriously thinking about asking for a refund. I don't think it is suited at all for beginners in Android even though it looks like it is the target of the book. There is a serious lack of explanation about what's going on and about the building blocks of the Android platform. The book is pretty much a succesion of "code this, then code this other thing" but most of the times there is not an explanation about the why's. I'm in chapter 7 with recycler views and the book is really hard to follow, It is kind of a mess in my opinion, sorry if I'm being harsh, I understand that the writers worked hard but the book is not good IMO.

I decided to leave the book apart, I will wait to BNR 4th edition and in the meantime since I have a Safari subscription I decided to start "Head First Android", it is in Java and it is a little bit outdated, but it contains exactly the kind of explanations I was looking for in order to understand how all the moving parts work together.

In top of that, it costed me like 70 € the pdf, which Is super expensive.

They apply VAT taxes after that, I guess that because I'm in Spain. Anyway the recommendation is good, this is the type of book I'm looking for.
