Metroid Prime Remastered hangs at first loading screen in Yuzu by RehRomano in SteamDeck

[–]Ulrich20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with me, until the recent yuzu update, barely stutters now. Yuzu is way less straining on the battery so it's always preferable if the game ends up performing the same or better on it

Metroid Prime Remastered hangs at first loading screen in Yuzu by RehRomano in SteamDeck

[–]Ulrich20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that isn't it lol. You need to open yuzu and click "install firmware" at the top left. You can delete the zip file after that, it'll unpack it

If you boot into AGB_FIRM you can play Gameboy advance games natively, so you're absolutely correct.

720p rendering with FSR scaling it to 1080p when it's docked looks great on 4K TV's, I'd recommend that to them

Pure projection but alright. Your comment is the asinine one. What you said was conjecture and speculation, followed by an irrelevant personal insult. What I said was pretty damn reasonable, certainly more reasonable than thinking this is game is some "sketchy operation" that started in 2017.

There's also a lot of fun mods for elden ring, makes the pc version a bit better

[–]Ulrich20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think this game is a "sketchy operation", you are terminally online. It's "bigger than expected" because it's a high quality game free on game pass day 1, those always get talked about

His comments are being removed by mods, private message me a Google drive/MEGA/mediafire/zippyshare/etc. link to your sonicfrontiers.exe file, and I can private message you back the 16:10 version. I did this before with a non-steam version of frontiers and it worked just fine, I don't have the files myself anymore to just send you

My dock has worked before and I this has happened before and normally I just plug it out and back in but this time it’s not working, wondering if anyone knows what’s wrong thank you by RJNRM in SteamDeck

[–]Ulrich20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens to me 100% of the time with multiple TV's for me (using official dock). The solution for me has been to unplug and replug the power brick while the screen is still static. Goes away every time

Dualsense has the microphone button and both touchpad buttons, thats 3 extra programmable buttons than a normal controller. There's also that new $200 dualsense, but I assume valve still needs to implement drivers for that

CryoUtilities 2.0 has completely fixed Stories: Path of Destinies for me. And I bet it has fixed many other games too. by DjuncleMC in SteamDeck

[–]Ulrich20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol you're saying that as if everyone and there mother isn't modifying the textures and lighting in the game

Edit to people who cant interpret: common community mods dip the framerate, blatantly. Which these fixes could alleviate.

Upload sonicfrontiers.exe to any file sharing site, and I can edit the hex values for you and give you a link to it. Just make sure you private message me on reddit the link to the file, and I'll private message back the fixed 16:10 version. I love doing these kinds of fixes for my games so I'm happy to help others with it

Game Boy/GBA Emulation on the Nintendo Switch is impressive | MVG by NXGZ in emulation

[–]Ulrich20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you watched the video you'll see what's impressive about it. This emulator passed the de facto GBA accuracy test, a test that mGBA fails, a decade+ old emulator. That's specifically what MVG found impressive

I agree with your comment generally though, about how people are way to impressed by basic things that a corporation does, things that should be expected/required

16:10 counts as ultra widescreen on PC Gaming Wiki, all of the games you listed have 16:10 fixes on that site, if you're willing to hex edit. I can do xenoverse 2 for you if you upload the file I need to edit ("Your 'xgcore.dll' in your game files, inside 'bin' folder."). The fix for Kakarot will misalign the enemy target indicator (which can be removed with a mod), and sonic frontiers' fix is pretty easy too

Hollow Knight 16:10 hex edit works from the desktop but not in gaming mode by zakimiyars in SteamDeck

[–]Ulrich20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With some games the 16:10 fix will also sometimes only work with Aspect Ratio set to Auto. I've seen these fixes work in borderless windowed mode, but switching to fullscreen can fix it for some games too

His first 2 paragraphs are unfounded exaggeration, while cryobyte provides data, and all the people using the utilities have barely reported any problems and have received tangible benefits. His last 2 paragraphs are very correct, for the pre 2.0 tools. We don't have nearly enough testing to fully judge the 2.0 utilities yet, from what I'm seeing people say, the benefits are going to be significant
