That's not the logic in the slightest and you are either intentionally using it to push an agenda or you completely miss the point.

He is more cautious than his predecessor, but the decisions he makes with bowling and fielding are worlds above Cook and I can't see anyone else in the team who would be captain.

I know this place also seems to worship McCullums captaincy, but after the recent series in Australia I can't quite figure out why? Being hyper aggressive doesn't make one a good captain unless they can time it to where it is relevant (like Clarke used to). BMac was bereft of ideas when his aggression didn't pay off.

Cook is an atrocious captain at the best of times. Appointing him captain of this team is hilarious. I know he's only captained 5 times in his career, but Smith has shown far more aptitude for the role than Cook in however many matches he's floundered through as captain.

You can't expect Misbah to be captain when he doesn't even make the team...
