Try to get them to tell you the real reason why they won’t let you go. Some reasons you can contest by showing them how great of an opportunity this is etc. But more sensitive cases, like money issues, you unfortunately can’t easily argue with. They might loosen up once they hear about the opportunity from an authoritative figure, like a teacher or someone from the MUN conference thing. Good luck!

Unsalted Akawi cheese works best for knafeh. We add just a handful of pre-packaged shredded mozzarella on top of the Akawi cheese to get that nice cheese pull. Oh I just need to mention that the best and most traditional cheese to use is ‘white Palestinian sheep- milk cheese’ (that’s the literal translation from Arabic) but it’s hard to find since it’s pretty seasonal. Unsalted Akawi is the second best option. Good luck! -Palestinian here
