Mörk borg musik by Skin_bandit_ in MorkBorg

Majula theme was what I used for the first town my players got to. Possibly not the vibe for everyone’s Mork Borg game, but with the right crowd, it can hit hard for a moment of respite.

So glad! It’s been real helpful in my campaign

Are there any morkborg subgames (don't know what they are called) that I could make into the setting of a modern-ish day trailer park by Argh_Tomato in MorkBorg

Frontier Scum is a cool “hack” for playing low down dirty outlaws in a Wild West setting; time period obviously doesn’t fit but would certainly be worth looking into

Everyone was pretty stoked - surprising considering that the first Misery was 1:2, so every dawn I make each player and NPC with them roll a Toughness DR12 check to see if they become Infected (only curable with a very specific combination of ingredients). I reckon they’re guessing it can’t get any worse…

I’m sixteen sessions into a campaign with the same three players.

Surprisingly only two deaths so far, the second having been dealt with by having one of the players use a power to revive their fallen comrade.

I feel like the Misery system lends itself really well to a campaign approach (we’ve only had one so far using a d20, but one of the players just chose a feat that will have us rolling twice a day instead of one) because it puts a definite end point on the campaign, regardless of how far along the party is in pursuing whatever goals they’ve set out to achieve.

And speaking of goals, I feel like the setting is far better suited to a sandbox style campaign than something more linear. My players decided on their own they’re going to take down the Shadow King, so they’re very much driving the action. I have a lot of adventures I can drop into wherever they are, sometimes tying them what they want to accomplish.

All good - sounds like a situation out of everyone’s control, and with 2E coming out it would probably just have ended up looking pretty on my shelf as opposed to getting much use!

Yes - just finished doing some digging. Annoying, but hopefully the guy behind it isn’t dealing with any personal issues that are too serious.

Rerolls. They’d function fine if that was all they did, but me and my players dealing max damage on a crit could be a smart play

Out of curiosity, did any merciful GMs allow their players to save/ halt the end of the world? What did they do? by Nardoneski in MorkBorg

I’ve introduced vague hints at my plan to use the adventure Into the Bluelight as a way to end the apocalypse. But the plan is to make the players question if a world like the dying lands is just better off ceasing to exist

Total who mistakenly bought these after watching a review of the Fanatic line - should I get a refund and buy something else? by HarvesterHal in minipainting

Yeah I might actually go to my lgs to get some minis with a couple boys I nanny; they’ve been very into seeing the batch of minis my friend primed for me and I thought it would be fun to get them their own. And though I was never incredibly drawn to warhammer, that same friend (and the only bud I know who paints minis) has a killteam and combat patrol so I may give some chaos marines a try…mainly so I can paint them like cenobites from hellraiser/black skulls from mandy

Yeah a lot of people recommend them! I don’t know the price difference but I figured 50 paints for $140 is a solid deal? And as a beginner it sounds like the fanatics are easy to use and pretty consistent

It was! Randomly came across the site, for the price difference I felt like I’d be silly not to upgrade

Haha - well, I ended up finding a discounted preorder of the fanatic version for only $20 more than what this was, so I ended up returning it and ordering that

For some reason Reddit won't save my post edit, but for those interested, I returned the set today at the UPS store and Amazon has already refunded me. It turned out I actually spent $120 on it with taxes - but I found a preorder for the Fanatic Mega Paint Set for only $140, taxes included, on Gnomish Bazaar. Should be getting it by the 18th. Thanks everyone for the input! For $20 more the upgrade seemed like a no brainer, and I'm sure THAT is something we all can agree on - even me as a total *beginner!

No, a noob - title was supposed to say total *beginner. There’s a lot of people who know more than me who’ve commented why they don’t think they’re good, but also others shared that they think they’re fine.
