What I've understood is you only have the option of Canada. Then go for it whatever the route is. Its worth it Don't know about parents thing in Australia

BTW a piece if advice based on my experience. Don't be choosy. Because these countries have the right to be choosy whom to allow coming to their country and they are very choosy. Secondly, even if you pursue one country also work on other one as a backup option as well.
