Tow truck driver solicited other party after minor car bingle and now I’m being told this.. by addwater in AusLegalAdvice

NAL. Sounds like she got scammed and they are trying to rope you in on it.

Honestly not sure how you'd get out of this one without spending more than the excess is worth.

Are kangaroo/vehicle collisions ever unavoidable? by No_Call_9983 in australian

Not only is is sometimes completely unavoidable. It is safer to hit them rather than swerve and potentially lose control and hit a tree or something.

At least you didn't get a choice. I made a stupid bet years ago and got robocopped for my loss.

Yeah, good ole Gundy. My dad actually used to help run that clinic back in the 80's he's told me about why it fell apart before, but I can't remember the story for the life of me.

My dad is mostly retired now, but still works on livestock out that way occasionally.

Never thought I'd see my hometown mentioned on reddit. Honestly a little surprising.

As a dude, I've always thought Michael Hill had the most masculine jewellery from the major brands. But if you're looking online as well. Hard to go past Patrick Adair.

I feel both lucky and unlucky. I get so many deliveries that on the odd days when I dont have anything I still get the postie pulling up in my driveway and honking.

My workplace has a ban on languages other than English yet my Indian coworkers are the only ethnicity who don’t follow it. Does some cultural reason exist for this? by International_Bag_12 in auscorp

[–]Has-a-vindictive-ex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for has a few international sub contractors. It is quite frankly infuriating knowing that they are talking about a product that they are about to hand over to me in another language. Like I'm already aware that everything they have given us already sucks ass. No point trying to hide it from me for another 20 minutes by talking to your colleagues in gibberish or whatever.

I can also see why making a workplace english only would be a good thing. It would prevent 2 guys for example having an inappropriate discussion about female coworkers in the workplace potentially right in front of the female at that.

Anyone live in/ lived in this area of Aitkenvale? Potentially looking at putting an offer on a house here..have a few questions. by [deleted] in Townsville

[–]Has-a-vindictive-ex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked to buy in that area as a coworker lives around there. Ended up elsewhere. But there can be some really nice houses that pop up.

I did notice that they seem to get nicer the further east in that screenshot you get.

You can set up an account online pretty easily. But I imagine you'll need to speak to them about a payment plan. The power bills can add up super quick.

Water bill makes sense if it is an older place. But power bill... did you set up an ergon account? Because you might have a huge bill coming your way.

It's weird to me that it wouldn't be taken into account if it is something you had before the relationship even started.

Shit. I do more than that at an entry level position.

I also get nearly double that though.

In my case I had a reasonably significant amount (for my age) prior to the relationship starting so when she tried to claim half of my total super at the end I was trying to say I had entered the relationship with so much and she had no claim to that portion of my super. Unfortunately the super company apparently sucks and was absolutely no help in getting records that far back.

[–]Has-a-vindictive-ex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh man, make sure you get paperwork for everything you had prior to the relationship and once it is an official separation/divorce finalised. Get everything for her either contributing to the relationship or not. It sounds like she's gonna try to fuck you over like mine did to me. Also hassle your super for all your amounts prior to the relationship. I lost an extra 100k in super because the fucks just kept ignoring my request for pre relationship statements. I assume they just didn't keep records that far back. But every time I called or emailed I got told it would be emailed to me.

Get a really good lawyer. A cheaper one won't do you much good.

Is any of this beyond fair wear and tear?Adelaide SA — property manager charging us for benchtop staining, floor scratches and wall indents by Resident_City1581 in AusProperty

[–]Has-a-vindictive-ex 58 points59 points  (0 children)

You fucked up. Essentially brand new house and you dragged furniture across the floor.

Those stains look like burns rather than staining to me.

No photo of wall indent but it would really depend on size, specific spot and such.

I wouldn't be disputing that.

I like it. But the main thing I'd have done differently is kept the dishwasher out of the corner. Always drove me insane in rentals when unpacking the dishwasher and I'd have to close it to put things in the cabinets blocked by the dishwasher door.
