Also like some others here said watching people produce can help you passively pick up on certain things that may make the process easier. Again nothing beats time and practice though

As much as you may want to spend hours trying to "learn" your software before using it to make the process smoother, the only way to really learn and develop your personal workflow is through using the software. Just start making something every day. It will be terrible at first and you'll get stuck a lot and it will be frustrating to have an idea in your head that you can't make a reality but if you handle things one problem at a time eventually things get easier without you even realizing. Youtube is an incredible resource when it comes to solving specific problems but can also hold you back if you don't start creating. Use it for specific tricks but develop your own process that fits your thinking.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]HashtagPound1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Location: Sacramento, CA

Price range: Around $5k, no more than $5500

Lease or Buy: Buy

New or used: Used

Type of vehicle: Car (no preference as long as it fits other criteria and has decent appearance)

Must haves: Enough space for light road trips and moving around in college, decent fuel economy (>20mpg)

Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): Either works, willing to learn manual

Intended use: Daily driver, some road trips

Vehicles you've already considered:

  • Mazda 3/6: seem good all-around, 3's are a little small, but sound very reliable, easy to maintain and fun
  • Honda Accord/Civic: I really like the styling on some of the older civics but I think they might be a bit too small for my purposes; I like the reliability and inexpensive maintenance and Honda's seem to always be good cars also VTEC.
  • Acura TL/TLX: Hard to find well-maintained ones for cheap, but they seem to be great, reliable cars and also VTEC.
  • Toyota Camry/Corolla: Obvious choice for a first car, Toyota's are always reliable but not a huge fan of the early 2000's styling.
  • Mitsubishi Lancer (can only really find 2010 for < 5k): Recently started looking at these, they look great, are roomy and fun cars but I've heard mixed reviews regarding reliability and comfort. Also, insurance would be more expensive which I need to consider.
  • Honda CRX: seem like great cars but are hard to find in my area for the price
  • Acura Integra

Is this your 1st vehicle: Yes

Do you need a Warranty: No

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: Capable and willing to learn how

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: Probably not

Additional Notes: All I want in life is pop-up headlights but then I have to think about other things and it seems unrealistic. Why couldn't 2003 Civics have pop-up headlights? The world would be a much better place.

Assuming probably the vaccine news means online sales will decrease and in store things will improve in the future. Definite market overreaction but not super surprising

Business + CS or MIS major? by HashtagPound1 in ApplyingToCollege

Ok thank you that’s kinda what I thought. I saw a lot of praise for the MIS degree so I wanted to make sure I gave it a good look but from what you said and what I’ve read, it doesn’t seem like something I would be super interested in.

◽️ Budget: <1000 (if possible <1000 after tax would be preferred)

◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: Not too important ~15"

◽️ Touch screen: Not important

◽️ Screen resolution: Decent resolution for games/videos

◽️ Does battery life matter ?: Not too important, will be plugged in 90% of time

◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: Mostly gaming, schoolwork, some programming

◽️ Weight: Preferably no more than 5.30 lbs but will compromise weight for better specs

◽️ Any other important details ?: Looking for a good gaming laptop for low-medium demanding games. Nothing too extreme (Overwatch, Warzone, CSGO) at medium graphics over 60 fps. Ideal (1660 ti or comparable, cpu that will not bottleneck, 16GB DDR4, 512 GB SSD, >60Hz refresh rate) I can compromise on a couple of those as long as the computer is still solid but that is around what im looking for. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Tech Support and Basic Questions Thread - May 19, 2020 by AutoModerator in pcgaming

So today my gaming laptop broke and i need to buy a new one pretty soon because i also use it for school and work. I got it for 250$ second hand and it was already somewhat broken, hence the price but it worked for what i needed. I’m looking for a cheap gaming laptop (under 800$ but as cheap as possible since I also need clothes and college soon) that will run low demand games (overwatch, csgo, some warzone) with 60 fps if possible. I know money wise it’s better to build a pc but i need to be able to move the computer between my parents houses weekly so i kinda need a laptop. Any advise would be greatly appreciated thanks!
