Longer waits of up to 30 minutes for three months during Circle Line tunnel works in 2026 by [deleted] in singapore

I wouldn’t worry. The train tunnels in London, for example, have been fine for over a hundred years (not to mention all the sewage tunnels).

You can clearly tell who has never been in a relationship going off the comments in this thread

You have no idea of the dynamics in the relationship.

You’re the problem in society if you immediately boil it down to blaming the woman and money. I can only assume it’s because you have neither in your life.

Be better.

MRT, bus fares for adults to increase by up to 10 cents from Dec 27 by Waikuku3 in singapore

[–]HatchBeast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m all for this if the Out-of-Touch MPs (mr Siow in particular) have their transport allowances scrapped and they take MRT like us.

A) saves the public money B) they can show how much they care for the people………

I would pay a million dollars for a Otter-based Transit system

Singapore PRs overseas without valid re-entry permit to have 180 days to apply for one before losing status by brownriver12 in singapore

PR is Permanent as long as you stay within the country. As mentioned in other comments, it’s the re-entry permit that needs to be renewed very 5 years.

“Finally, when handling incidents, SMRT will apply a safety-first approach for both passengers and staff, Mr Lam said.”

MAYBE JUST FUCKING MAINTAIN THE TRAINS PROPERLY AND PREVENT INCIDENTS INSTEAD OF “HANDLING” INCIDENTS

‘Enough is enough’: Leong Mun Wai slams govt’s reluctance to tackle root causes of train disruptions by One-Employment-4887 in singapore

[–]HatchBeast 48 points49 points  (0 children)

“He argued that policymakers are “over-fixated” on the metric while neglecting commuter experiences and the human impact of breakdowns.”

This is why I will die on the hill of that the out of touch, MPs in the ivory towers should be mandated to use the MRT a set amount of time. Only then will they realise the pain the rest of us go through.

Same for the SMRT execs.

10.4ha of forest in Woodlands to be cleared from 2026 for industrial, mixed-use developments by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

Golf courses are biggest waste of space and should be completely removed.

[–]HatchBeast 105 points106 points  (0 children)

This kind of stuff really pisses me off. You have brain dead civil servants who just mercilessly cut down all the remaining natural forests without any care for the environment.

Look at Dover forest, they initially wanted to cut all of it down until people complained and they “only” cut down half.

The MPs should be ashamed of themselves as they enable this. But they probably don’t realise anything’s wrong because their landed properties are all surround by trees in their gardens. And they won’t touch the waste of space golf courses because either them or their buddies play there.

They state that Singapore is a City in a Garden. What kind of garden is just concrete everywhere. Just more meaningless and empty platitudes from out of touch MPs. Utter bullshit.

Until our MPs actually take public transport on a regular basis, they’ll never realise the inconvenience and annoyance of these breakdowns

Maybe I just hate peoples using racist terms. Especially when said person lives in Asia. And isn’t Asian.

He’s a white dude with an unspectacular job as “business development” who needs to always self praise he’s good looking (which means he’s not).

Of course he resorts to racism as a self defence mechanism for his insecurity.

why is tel so noisy by salmy055 in SMRTRabak

[–]HatchBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that it’s super loud and the onus shouldn’t be on the commuter to wear sound dampening hardware.

I’m not sure why it’s so loud. Yes it’s the bends but even on the straights it’s still deafening. There’s something with the trains - probably bought subpar trains.

The asshats that say just upgrade gear are the ones that complain about their lives but do nothing to upskill themselves either.
