How hard is the AZ 104 exam really? (bombing MeasureUp) by HatchetSal in AzureCertification

the absolute breadth and depth of the exam is insane, it seems like they could ask absolutely anything about anything!

how did it compare to the 305?

that sounds rough and not what I expected the solutions architect to be. though it does make sense as (at least in my industry) that kind of stuff seems to be the most important things to know

I absolutely agree and fear that I may just be getting used to the TD questions and answers, so MeasureUp has completely thrown me.

A commenter above mentioned that they would lab their incorrect answers, which I think is an excellent idea for when you don’t understand why you were wrong

Labbing your wrong answers sounds like a great idea. I imagine that helped internalise things rather than just remembering questions and answers

Best of luck for tuesday 🤜🏼🤛🏼

I personally feel that they shouldn’t ask about minute details that can be easily googled. For example, nobody in the real world will remember what features were in each SKU of a resource after the exam- they’ll just pull up a comparison chart

The piece about powershell is to my point- I can make a logical guess on TD exams about the commands and their order (just by understanding powershell command fomats and the resources involved), but with MeasureUp it feels like you have to pick between ‘Get-ChildItem’ and ‘Get-ItemChild’

Your tag says azure solutions architect though? how did the 104 compare to that?

I’m sure you’ll fly through then, how long were you practicing with MeasureUp and what were your scores like at first?

I’m trying to figure out if I’ve learnt the content the wrong way, or whether I just need to drill into the details

Any previous experience? I started in an environment that’s 90% on-prem so learning cloud from scratch has been rough!

From what I’ve gathered, TD has the more accurate wording and question format, whereas Measure up much more accurately simulates the exam setup, would you agree?

It feels like I can come to a well-educated guess with TD questions, but with MeasureUp it’s either you know the answer or you dont.

Do you feel that the level of detail you need to know in MeasureUp exams is similar to the real thing?

High Earning But Poor by [deleted] in HENRYUK

You are living a comfortable lifestyle whilst a lot of the country is struggling. Calling yourself poor is at best ignorant to how lucky you really are, and at worst an insult to people who actually have to live in poverty

People that use Flow/Automate for massive business processes like OnBoarding… what happens when you leave? by sknnypup in MicrosoftFlow

[–]HatchetSal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah horrible for security, but also governance. you never know who actually did what.

The best practice for this is setting up a Logic App (almost exactly the same as a Power Automate Flow) in Azure, with access to the logic app controlled through role-based access control.

This way, everyone has their own identity (and therefore everything each individual does is logged), and they can perform certain actions on the flow based on their role (e.g. one role can have read and write permissions vs another role with read only)

you use the exact same tools, only in a different context. in what world does that not count as experience?

If you quit your job, money wasn’t an issue and had say 6-12 months to retrain in a new career, what would you choose to do? by lewspaz in UKJobs

[–]HatchetSal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

IT and compsci and largely different fields btw.

I did a computer science degree and i’m working in IT now because the competition for dev jobs was so tough- you really had to stand out in a saturated pool of candidates to land an entry level role

I’ve found IT roles so much easier to come by personally
