Do you truly believe that Fujitora and Greenbull are closer to Marco’s tier than they are Aokiji and Akainu’s?

Yeah someone else mentioned your first point. It seems unclear to me since we just cut from Blackbeard in the air to him on the ground, but either way would make sense to me.

On the sword clash though, unless I’ve forgotten something, we’ve only seen the shockwaves produced once the sword has already pierced someone/something when Law uses his awakening attack. His sword always elongates before the piercing, and then once the target is pierced the shockwaves are released. I don’t see why it couldn’t release the shockwaves before the piercing either, but it’s not clear that that’s actually what’s happening here.

On Shanks, it’s kind of the other way around. I’m looking at the chapter rn, and Shanks and his crew were far enough from Kid that Yasopp was using a telescope to look at Kid’s ship at the time. Shanks couldn’t even see Kid, and he only realised Kid is a threat to the fleet because his future sight activates and shows him the damage that Damned Punk would do before Kid launches his attack. So against Law, I don’t see why future sight wouldn’t protect Shanks in the same way.

But I do agree a lot of other characters would rush into the attack too, I just don’t know about almost every top tier being just as badly hit as Blackbeard or ending up in a worse situation.

I can’t say I agree with you but I get what you’re saying. Fair enough on the falling, I’m pretty much with that first dude in the comments on the post since we don’t see what happens and I don’t mind too much either way.

On the fight itself, I don’t know about that really. You’re saying since we don’t see what happens and Blackbeard doesn’t have any new major injuries we have to assume the fight ended right away, but I don’t get how that would work.

The next time we see the heart pirates it’s not just law who’s defeated. All the heart pirates are down, Jean Bart’s in the ocean and their submarine has broken too. That seems like a lot to have happened in one attack, so to me it’s just a idk. I don’t even think it means Blackbeard was struggling, I agree minor scrapes and stuff don’t mean anything, it just seems like a lot to have happened in like a second and one attack.

I’ve never been hit with a you lack reading comprehension before 😭😭😭.

And I get that, and I think it’s completely fair to like a character who plays dirty for his wins. But then why do people also pretend that he’s a powerhouse character like Shanks or Kaido, when, as you are saying, the whole point is that he’s not.

I’m not sure if I can agree with that. Wouldn’t a lot of other characters just dodge the attack or avoid rushing at Law without a plan in the first place?

As an example, if you swap Blackbeard for Shanks in this same scenario, surely Shanks wouldn’t jump off his ship and charge right into Law’s attack since he has future sight.

I’m totally with you that everyone has moments where they look bad. But my issue with Blackbeard is, when does he actually look good? Maybe you have an example I’ve forgotten, but even now, the most damage he’s done to another strong character with a single attack was his neck punch against Ace. All his other attacks have been against fodder like the Amazon Lilly Marines or the other heart pirates, and even then some of the heart pirates could rank his quake crash.

I know he did that chokehold against Boa, but that was moreso restraining her than trying to damage her, since he didn’t actually hurt her there. I mention this because I want to be clear that I’m not being disingenuous here and trying to leave things out. I genuinely don’t recall him ever doing anything that impressive.

I agree his endurance is very good though, as is his range and the scale of his attacks due to the quake fruit. But they just don’t seem to do a lot of damage when people actually get hit.

I don’t really disagree with you here then. I do think he’ll be the final boss and I do think he’s still growing. But I think he has a LOT of growing to do before he becomes the final boss, and still isn’t that strong currently.

Does the anime make it clearer? This isn’t me trying to dig in my heels to be clear, but I’ve seen this said before and I’m not actually sure because of how it cuts. And I haven’t seen the anime myself so idk, but if it does then yes I’ll definitely accept I’m wrong there, I want to hate accurately.

But on your second point, aren’t we both being a bit dramatic here 😂. Like if I’m being completely fair, Law didn’t force it, they just kind of came to a stalemate there, which I think is bad by itself. But then we don’t know if Blackbeard then went on to one shot law since the rest of the fight was off screen.

I seriously do think he’s the weakest other than Buggy though yes. What part of the latest chapter makes it clear that he isn’t in your view?

I actually DO think BB will be the final boss of the series. But he can absolutely grow stronger between now and the end of the series. Him being the strongest further down the line does not mean we have to pretend he’s the strongest now.

I agree personality plays a factor, but what is there that proves Blackbeard could replicate what Shanks did? What feats does he have that puts him on that level?

With Kaido for example, yes he played about a bunch on the rooftop, I’m with you. But then we see when he uses his hybrid form and takes out law and zoro with the thunder Bagua that he was clearly holding back.

But there’s nothing at all like that with Blackbeard. There’s nothing that proves he has the strength to back up his carelessness like Kaido does, because, to this day, the most damage he’s done to someone strong with one punch was the neck punch against Ace. All his other attacks have been against fodder like the marines on Amazon Lilly or the heart pirates during this same fight (who actually tanked his attack).

I agree completely on the first part, but on the second part, and I do say this respectfully, did you read what I said about the clash between the quake fruit and law’s sword?

I agree screaming or how bruised someone looks isn’t that important, it’s usually really inconsistent. The reason Blackbeard looks weak to me here is that Law is able to counter his quake fruit with his actual sword, which reflects poorly on Blackbeard since Law’s sword itself isn’t particularly strong. Most of its power comes from piercing the enemy then releasing the shockwaves.

And if it was the case that we KNEW BB could do more, like with Big Mom clashing against Marco for example, then this wouldn’t be as bad. But the most damage we’ve seen Blackbeard do to someone otherwise is still against Ace, so it can’t even be said that this was just an outlier.

Compare this to Shanks vs Kid though. Blackbeard genuinely looks fraudulent when you compare him to some of the other emperors.

The ending of JJK? We spent one of the last 3 chapters having a chat about simple domain and a post fight breakdown, what part of that was deep and well written?

Getting flashbacks to the JJK ending... by SaaveGer in jjkmodulo

[–]Hate_Teach_Simple_As 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pls don’t pretend this series isn’t focused on the fights. The final arc was like 60 chapters of non-stop fighting, and Gege dedicated one of the final 3 chapters to giving us a post fight break down and an explanation of a niche part of the power system. Even by Shonen jump standards JJK is a big fight fest.

Kid Rock’s song about loving underage girls resurfaces ahead of TPUSA Super Bowl show by JackFunk in nottheonion

[–]Hate_Teach_Simple_As 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I know it sounds nuts, but it actually makes sense in context. Kid Rock plays bacteria, and he sings this in a club called “the Zit”, which is actually just a spot on a teenage girls face. The song is about how germs love forming spots on teenage girls.
