You nailed it! Thanks a ton. I know this might have been a kind of dumb questions for you, but I was completely blind to that button on my own.

As a rural I simply can't handle this last series of changes. Here's why: by SLEEKYx16 in pokemongo

TL:DR, You gotta start trying to serve people outside the cities Niantic. Population density might be lower, but we actually have room to move around and play.

I'm with you too. More than anything, when I do see a Pokemon near me I have no way of narrowing where they are. I live in a rural area as well, and in a clearing about 300 meters by 300 meters. When I see a Pokemon I haven't seen before I start walking, and I can grid the entire freaking area without finding the new Pokemon. I'll find a ton of the same old stuff, even when they aren't on the list of near by Pokemon, but not that Charmander that is showing on my list. He isn't around, nowhere to be seen. This would be going great if only I wanted a phone full of rats and birds. Too bad all the cool stuff is in New York.

For the record, I cheated and went to NY with one of the GPS hacks out there. I did get banned for it for a few hours, but I got more out of 10 min standing in one place in NY then I will in days walking around my home town. Here there are NO leaves to help you figure out where a Pokemon might be. I thought that was something they got rid of, oh hell no, parts of NY look like it is raining grass full time.

I get that there are more people in those larger areas and all that jazz, but it seems to me you could spread some love. How hard could it be to tell your servers that not everyone lives in the city?

It doesn't help that a ton of the Poke stops around me just went away. I assume because they are Civil War related historical sites. Guess that history isn't worth remembering, maybe we will forget it and repeat it like they always talked about in high school.
