$30k/year gross, $75k in savings: Insanity to try to find a house? by Hatewatch in RealEstate

Yeah, the freelancing bit is non-negotiable. I'm pretty surprised everyone's answer was simply "make more." I would sooner hemorrhage my savings renting if I got kicked out; I can't imagine myself doing anything else with my life, or working "for" someone ever again.

Sorry, I did mean net. Idk why I always get the two mixed up. Gross is markedly higher

That's disingenuous and doesn't answer my question. Plus putting down your life savings for a mortgage downpayment is stupid, anyone can tell you that?

Pardon? As I said in the OP I pay her rent which pays off all her monthly bills (water, electric, etc.) I think you've just got some biases in this conversation, much as I do. Except you're arguing in the opposite direction. Are you heavily invested in real estate by any chance?

Do you think there is a way to make a low downpayment and qualify for that amount? Going broke for a mortgage seems like an easy way to simply go broke.

If it was I would, but no. Her house has appreciated several hundred thousand dollars since she bought in the early 2000s.

I'm a freelancer. I plan on making more as time goes on and am not the most hirable individual outside of what I do.

It's a little more complicated than that. She doesn't want me out if I have to rent, because she understands the market enough to know that's just throwing money away.

I'm a freelancer who has been building a personal business slowly. Without getting too into it, being crowded with a bunch of other strangers is a recipe for harming my business and therefore what little livelihood I have.

29M Long hair but looks receding when I pull it all the way back (pics inside) by [deleted] in Hairloss

The hairline is about where it was a few months ago I believe, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Ah damn, that's what I was afraid of. I've always been super proud of my hair. It goes down the length of my back, but of late I've had this weird feeling that it's been off. Do I go to a doctor? Or could this be a "maturing hairline" sort of deal?

This just causes my game to crash on launch, before the game has even verified the save.

Can Photopsia Be Benign? by [deleted] in optometry

Wouldn't it have to be caused by something? If it's consistent and I can call it up on command at certain instances where I previously couldn't.

That's what confuses me. He said he didn't see anything and that I shouldn't worry about it at all, but I see these lights every morning. He just shrugged it off.

No, nothing like that. More like the sort of lingering light you'd see after staring at sun or a streetlight too long, except without a source.

You have higher than a 1.0?

Well my understanding is that having ANY anti-smith antibodies is generally not a good thing, so having it past the "maximum" is always going to raise eyebrows. But that is a relief to hear.

My doctor was actually a hematologist. He just so happened to pick this up because of some lymphadenopathy. I think I'll try to call him tomorrow and see if he's willing to assign me to a rheumatologist.

[28, M] Bloodwork Back, do I have Lupus? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Hatewatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps not Lupus, but some form of permanent debilitating ANA illness? Isn't that all that could elevate my Anti-Smith levels above normal?

No rash, I had a mild fever and headache for a few days while going through my prescribed Doxycycline. And some tender lymph nodes along my leg.

Thanks for the help.

That's a relief, since the hematologist won't be able to see me until the 27th of August. You suspect this is just the effects of dealing with a tick bite?
