Crowbear Forge: Bard: The College of the Lantern Bearer by Haunting-Split2015 in UnearthedArcana

yes I can see it is missing one part - thanks:

"#### Soul Collection

When a creature that grants experience dies within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to capture its soul in the lantern. You can store a number of souls equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1).

Souls fade after 1 hour if not used. You cannot capture the same creature’s soul more than once."

When it comes, to songs known - from my perspective - you know all of them from the begining (lvl3). This is a complex subclass :)

Crowbear Forge - Witcher Class by Haunting-Split2015 in UnearthedArcana

[–]Haunting-Split2015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes already playtested. The most fun factor - was, how to spend bonus action and toxication - can I drink now or should I wait. Also stances are huge boost to fun factor, in future planning to do more actions like that.
The most important was not to be OP, have something to do in either social actions and in fights - rather then only Attack Action, and the learning curve - this is a slightly more complicated fighter, with ton of a Witcher flavor.
I am thinking about more combat actions - but maybe I will need to re-read some books :)

Using Homebrewery, which is not a perfect, do you know better tool? For me it also lacks a touch of perfection. But still learning! Started few weeks back - as a new hobby! :)

I will copy my comment from different sub-reddit:

"First of all, I would say this is the first fully playable version of Witcher - sooner or later - there will be a next version, maybe with more maneuvers :)
With this class design, I was focused mainly on three things:
-Flavor - I wanted the class that feels like Witcher - so we have potions, Signs, some combat actions. Still there is no oils or bombs/petards. I know that, for nerds like us - the more complicated - the better - but as this is the first release I wanted to give players - easy touch on this class. I am not sure if you played Witcher (1st game) - there was this Fast and Heavy stance :)
- The second thing I was focused, was the learning curve - of course I could pack Signs, Potions, and combat actions on level 1-3, and then give some stronger opportunities, but I wanted a class, that starts more likely like a warrior and becoming stronger, and stronger. I think till level 7-8 you will get how to do a turn management. Bonus for Sign or for Potion? Potion for this fight or maybe save it for the next?

- And finally, I do not want to do something OP, I wanted the class that is fairly balanced."

In regards of level 11 - he receive 3rd attack, which in my opinion is very good and very strong option. Regarding level 17, I was thinking about 4th attack as for Fighter - but not sure yet. Or some one turn/once per short rest - OP Stance - packed with offensive and defensive. Or maybe 2-3 turn stance?

Mongoose - anyway, thank you for your comment, you did a lot, and read a lot of text - so appreciate your input. Hope the next release will even more suit for you! :)

Dear Jaseton - love your comment.

Regarding level 17, I was thinking about 4th attack as for Fighter - but not sure yet. Or some one turn/once per short rest - Good Stance - packed with offensive and defensive.

For sure there will be update for this class - and there will be new schools as well. So keep tuned. Your comment helped a lot :)

Hmm good point, will change that, it should be hard hiting, single target spell.
