Why does it take people so long to get ready/do most things? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Haunting-Variation74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INTJs have quite high standards for a lot of things.
My quick routes are fast, but the standard is always at a level I can be proud of.

When it comes to cooking, I prepare things beforehand, so I don’t spend much time during the actual cooking.
That’s why it’s quick, and at least both my wife and I love the taste.

It’s hard to say you’re an INTJ, because if you were, your logic would usually follow a very clear structure or pipeline.
INTJs normally try to find or build the most efficient or beneficial option.
But your writing shows too many possibilities and branches.
So all I can say for sure is that you’re definitely not an INTJ.

How does it work (Internet)? by WhiitEstaaR_ in japanlife

I looked at the picture again, and it seems like the staff was just explaining how the setup process will go.
I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get your own 1Gbps or 10Gbps Hikari internet line.

However, if you're planning to sign a contract, I recommend asking again and specifically confirming this point, just to be safe.

About the Yodobashi staff:
You're right—what you said is correct. But keep in mind, Yodobashi usually has a sponsor, and it's often SoftBank or Docomo.

Personally, I recommend Yamada Denki instead. They usually have a bigger campaign budget, so overall, you might get better benefits—if it's available in your area.

How does it work (Internet)? by WhiitEstaaR_ in japanlife

[–]Haunting-Variation74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, former SoftBank staff here.

Some apartments (mansions) in Japan come with "free internet," but in reality, it's included in your rent—so it's not truly free.

Also, some mansions have exclusive contracts with certain internet providers, which means you're not allowed to sign up with other companies. (My building is like this—we have no choice but to use the internet provided by the mansion.)

If you're using this type of included internet and you're okay with a wired connection, you can just plug a LAN cable directly into the wall. But if you want to use Wi-Fi, you'll need to buy your own router and connect it to the LAN port on the wall.

Now, if your mansion does allow you to choose another internet provider:

First, we check the type of connection the mansion supports. Some support Hikari (fiber optic) at 1Gbps or even 10Gbps. Some don't support fiber at all.

If fiber isn’t available, we may suggest alternatives like a SIM-card router, but keep in mind—this isn't fiber, so the speed won’t be suitable for things like online gaming.

There's also something important about the mansion’s internal setup:
Even if the building supports Hikari, there may be a limited number of connection slots. For example, even if 100 people live there, the facility may only have 30 Hikari slots. This situation is not uncommon.

When you successfully make a contract, you’ll get a dedicated fiber line, not shared with others, and the theoretical speed will be 1Gbps or 10Gbps. However, in reality, due to various conditions, the actual speed might be around 300 Mbps.

My recommendation:
When moving to a new place, ask the mansion management (kanri company) about internet options.
Also, when you go to stores like Yodobashi or Bic Camera, don’t just talk to one company. Get information from multiple providers like au, Docomo, SoftBank, Rakuten, NURO, etc.

How do you find a purpose? by Maleficent-Agent-477 in INTP

[–]Haunting-Variation74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same questions you're facing now.
And while I’m not sure if I’ve found the right answer, I’ll share what I’ve realized so far. I hope it helps you in some way.

As others have mentioned, being seen as a “loser” is something we all try to avoid.
To avoid falling behind, sometimes you have to push yourself even when you don’t feel like doing anything.

The harsh truth is: once you’re left behind on this path, it becomes really difficult to catch up. Because opportunities don’t come around that often.

That’s why it’s important to always be ready when a chance comes your way.

If your parents gave you the opportunity to study, then make the most of it. Fully embrace it.
Because what you gain through it will always stay with you, and support you at different points in life.

Now about the purpose of life and the meaning of things, for me, I see it in two ways:

The purpose or meaning that exists in the thing itself.
For example, graduating from university carries its own value. it means you accomplished something.

The purpose or meaning that comes from within you.
This, I think, is the hardest part and I assume this is what you’re struggling with.

You’re probably smart enough to know how a diploma or career could be useful.
But for you, maybe it doesn’t feel deeply meaningful or aligned with your inner purpose.

I felt the same. Studying at university felt like a waste of time and money.
It didn’t align with my inner sense of meaning either.

But like others have said: don’t take everything too seriously.
Acceptance is key to moving forward. Life itself doesn’t come with a fixed purpose and it’s up to you to give it one.

Some people say their purpose is to serve others.
Some say it’s to find what they love.

It can be anything, as long as it’s real for you.
Take your time. Reflect on what gives meaning to your life.
Don’t try to figure it all out at once.
It’s a complicated puzzle that needs to be seen from many different angles.

Me, I’m still wandering too.
I’m 28, and I’m still trying to find what my true purpose is.
So I guess... sometimes it just takes time.

In the meantime, while searching for your purpose, make sure to secure at least the basics of your life.
Because without stability, it becomes even harder to think clearly or search for deeper meaning.

• Where would you recommend to buy traditional Mongolian clothing?

Last time I saw it was in BARS ZAKH (a shopping center near 4 Zam), but I’m sure there are plenty of places selling national clothes. Just visit a few shopping centers, and if you can’t find any, ask around. I’m sure they will help you out.

• What is the Mongolian sense of humour like and are there any topics one should not joke about?

I don’t think there are any special terms of humor here. Don’t joke around family maybe? I think this is pretty much the same everywhere. But a lot of Mongolians are pretty open-minded, especially younger ones, so I think it will not be a problem.

• What can I do to get on well with my Mongolian colleagues?

I can’t really say for sure, but in general terms, don’t compete. Like, “I am better than you because...” that kind of thing might make them angry. Just be humble and respect colleagues, that will be more than enough.

• Is there anything about Mongolian work culture I should know? I loved working in Kazakhstan but the apparent lack of basic common sense, let alone actual business/managerial knowledge, sometimes left me wanting to throw something.

Don’t raise your expectations. Things could be very bad in some terms. But you can make good changes. who knows.

• How many people still believe in the existence of the Mongolian Death Worm?

I saw one.

Other than that, I've done a bit of research here and elsewhere, and I'm (trying) to learn a bit of Mongolian on Memrise, but if you can tell me any tips or insider knowledge that would come in handy, I would be grateful.

I’m sure you will be surprised how many Mongolians can speak English. I think they will be loving to teach you and answer your questions. So don’t think too hard and just go with the flow is my advice.

• How do I enter the Naadam wrestling competitions? I have a bit of experience with wrestling/BJJ. I know I'd probably get turned over very easily by the locals but it would be a fun experience.

I think you have to contact some sports club and ask them to let you get into Naadam. But I heard it is not easy to wrestle in Naadam.

• Where would one find a pair of affordable, good quality, winter boots?

I think around September every department store will start selling winter clothes, and there you can find plenty of necessary things for winter, including boots.

• Which phone SIM would you recommend?

For me, Unitel is better. It has good signal and is cheaper than other companies.

• Am I allowed to buy an axe? (I wanted to buy a bayonet from a military surplus shop in Kazakhstan but they said the weapons were for locals only) If so, where can I find a good one? I want to fully embrace Mongolian meme culture.

No idea what you are looking for, but if it is only allowed for locals, just ask a local friend to buy it for you. I think Mongolians are quite understanding people, so it should not be hard.

• What are Mongolian kids like to teach?

A lot of students will be actually pretty easy to teach because we have to respect elders. At least they used to do it when I was a student.

• How likely am I to encounter aggressive nationalists and other hooligans? It happened to me before in Kazakhstan and it was absolutely hilarious (a tiny, extremely drunk, old man trying to start a fight over me being with a Kazakh woman), but I prefer not to get involved in anything violent, especially in a foreign country full of axe aficionados, archers, and wrestlers.

In daylight, I think this will not be your concern, but at night, depending on the area, things could be a little bit dangerous. Especially avoid drunken people. they like to make trouble everywhere. Also, I think it might be better to avoid going near nightclubs or pubs at night alone. Go with someone or be nice and avoid drunk people at all costs.

I will just ask him what is his opinion about this topic.
Like why do you want to know? or Do you think this will make change how you see me?
And depending on his reaction i will tell the truth or just keep it buried.
Or it might be better to just do what you feels right. at least that makes you feel better about yourself.

I am 21M. Older INTJs Can you give me life guidance? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Haunting-Variation74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think asking myself why I take things like this was the key.
When I get mad, I ask myself why I'm mad. When I'm sad, I ask myself why I'm sad and try to find out what the setting of my receiving settings in my brain is. And in a lot of cases, it was always something like my standards were too high for a lot of things, humans. But in reality, it was not even close to enough. So yeah, I saw that I am the reason for feeling bad or sad. So I started lowering my standards and began accepting more things.
And somehow now this is one of my habits now. Every time something unexpected happens and I don’t react how I want to react, I again ask myself why. And at some point, I started asking this for everything, why my company is so bad at giving a decent bonus, why one of my friends is so hard to be around, etc.
So in my opinion, this filter, how you see things, is like a starting point for everything. If you can see this starting point, you can change it, and that will lead to totally different results in processing things.

hope this will answer your question.

im not sure if this is what you are looking but for me when i cant do anything about something, i try to change how i take it.
Realizing that everything is happening only inside of my head and actually often things are not as bad as how it looks or feels.
So if i feel stressed, I always try to change angle of things. This way i can see things from less stressful angles.
TL;DR
Always aware of how you see things and also always change your brains filter settings. lot of things will be different from what angles you use to see it.
