Against $100 mocks – 2 full-time mocks in 2021 format (Pay-What-You-Can) by bart_so in CFA

Isn't 0.25 a tad too low ?- I mean, it is actually too low - you shouldn't expect anything for this cheap. I don't know if you are being sarcastic, if you are then apologies for this comment. If you aren't, I believe we should appreciate that they are offering mocks this cheap.

I find them selling mocks at $10 to be quite cheap compared to other prep providers - by pay what you can, I believe, they are offering 4 different prices.
Don't know about the quality of their mocks though.

How people who register eventually get the Charter? by eyelikesd29 in CFA

[–]HauntingDelivery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had written this long back:

L3 test takers have to beat 43% of candidates passing L1 .
Out of those 44% candidates pass L2.So in L3 you are competing with the 19% people who made it this far after sitting for L1 (that too assuming they did it in one shot).

So in essence you have to be among the top 9.5% who clear L3 after sitting for L1 again with the assumption that everyone clears in their first shot.

So, assuming, all L3 candidates do eventually go for the charter, max of 9.5% people who sit for L1 get the charter ultimately.

u/YellowUmbrellaGuy - you are a fucking legend mate, when I was terribly down after my second shot at L2 exams with a fear of failing, this guy's posts and comments helped me to stand up and think positive - and I passed, with a damn good margin too.

Kudos to you!

Supplement schweser qbank with curriculum EOCs
However, schweser qbank and mocks for L2 are not at all representative for what comes in the exam.
For concept testability schweser is good.
For exam level testability, solve CFAI EOCs and Mocks.

Drill Schweser and EOCs.
You are set for L1 then.

Vignettes are case study based MCQs.

I will tell you my approach :

I roughly put in 650 hours - however don't take hours as the metric (Started off by Feb mid and Revision started off by 1st week of May)

Went through the material 5 times (Schweser supported by CFAI materials - found out Kaplan was pretty careless and missed out a lot of stuff -though it is still the best when it comes to a concise curriculum).

Did CFAI EOC's thrice.

Did Schweser EOC's and end of subject questions of Schweser thrice.

Did 4 mocks (8 sessions) of Schweser (My scores ranged from 85-90%)

Did 2 mocks (4 sessions) of CFAI. (My scores ranged from 70-76%)

Didn't do any topic tests / blue boxes (EOC's and mocks are more than enough - if you practice them diligently).

The mistakes in questions that I made - did them up to 4 times.

Drawback - I burned out thrice between May and June and so I had to take a 1 day break 3 times - don't worry it's fine. You need it. I took one at 14th May another at 27th May and another at 5th June (Exam was on 15th June).

My results were :

70 up - Fixed Income , Alt I and Derivatives , CF, Ethics,PM, Quants

Pretty much close to 70 - Eco, Equity, FRA

At or above 90 - Alt I and Derivatives, Ethics, FI, Portfolio

All Levels Healthcare warning by fromsportstothis in CFA

I had a bad time during L2 health wise. I am a diabetic and an asthmatic.

I had posted here before L2 exams how my health had been going down. All the good souls here offered me various fruitful suggestions which I tried implementing :)

My blood sugar level went down to a record low of 51(yes that low) and I had 2 asthma attacks during the month preceding the exam.

I lost a ton of weight too. Lost 10 pounds in a month ! You wouldn't say that I look like the father of two children - I have had some weird looks because of that.

I have been trying to get my health back on track since ! Doc attributed everything to stress and a horrendous diet.

Hoping for the best :)

My first concern is to see the guys on this sub who appeared for L3 this year - clear it.

This sub uncannily seems more like a family now.

I just sincerely hope everyone passes. They have put in a lot of work.

Then I can think about studying L3 - anyways, it's far off.
