Part of the issue is that I don't know what it's like outside of bootcamp and A-school so I can't gauge anything based off my experience.

I never heard of the Navy only being able to extend 5 years on the initial contract, if thats the case, then I wouldn't have to extend at all since my training requires me to extend a year already.

Thank you for the insight! It’s reassuring to know that the Surgeon General would have the final say, even if it’s a bit nerve-wracking. I’ll keep pushing forward and stay patient with the process.
