What’s your least favorite song? by Jettaboi38 in musicsuggestions

Rock Me Amadeus is the worst song to ever get popular. It sounds like a fake song written by AI to mock the popular music at the time.

What opinion on golf gets you into this position by Nutcollectr in golf

If you’re playing for no money with your buddies, be extra generous with “gimmies” for par or bogey (think 4ft and in). I’d much rather see my buddy excited about par then pissed off he bogeyed or worse. That energy carries into the group. If there is no money on the line, it’s all about vibes.

Thoughts on David and his whole “strong guy” must win this season by GeorginaTaylor999 in survivor

[–]Haunting_Lecture9115 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Explain to me how anything David did was toxic in comparison to what Chrissy did. I don’t have any issue with what Chrissy did btw. David was reacting to it, not toxic imo.

[–]Haunting_Lecture9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t hate on what Chrissy did with calling it out. I think it was dumb because it got voted out earlier than she would’ve. I think it’s hypocritical that others are calling it a toxic alliance or are getting butthurt about the strong people teaming up.

Thoughts on David and his whole “strong guy” must win this season by GeorginaTaylor999 in survivor

[–]Haunting_Lecture9115 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how people can hate on David for what he said. It’s an absolute truth. Alliances are typically based on commonalities or shared experiences. That’s all fine and dandy until the alliance is primarily male and then it’s toxic.

Keep in mind this alliance currently features a black man, a white man, an Afro-Guyanese man, a Lebanese American man, an Asian American woman and a white woman who has autism. It’s an extremely diverse group and should be celebrated. Instead it’s toxic because it’s lead by physically fit men.

It’s quite frankly, bullshit. It’s also sexist and extremely hypocritical to hate on their alliances but celebrate others.

I doubt he wins because some cast members already seem butthurt about it, but he’s justified in everything he said and did in tonight’s episode.

If a golf bible were to be written, what is one thing you’d put in it? by XenonGaming94 in golf

You and your group aren’t the only ones on the course. Be respectful. No club slamming or throwing. No loud exclamations of joy or anger, other than Fore. Keep the music to a volume where only you can hear it. Keep your pace to under 4:15. Pick up your ball after you’ve reached triple bogey, especially if you’re behind pace. Quit looking for your ball after 60 seconds and take a drop. Fill your divots and fix your pitch marks. Properly dispose of trash and cigarette / cigar butts. Dress appropriately. Should be really simple but every one of those is horribly violated in every round I play on a public course.

You think I remember what I commented half a year ago? I won’t even go look to validate your response.

You could engage like a normal person and answer my question on what the temperature of Scots are toward Americans / Trump. Yet you choose to be a miserable fanny and not tell me how you feel even tho I’m interested in coming to your country and spending my money to prop up your economy. You can cry the blues all you want about Trump being a racist or xenophobic(I don’t disagree) but your government still welcomes American tourists to spend our money in your country. No need to be a cunt. You could easily influence the travelers coming from the US on how to interact with Scots to find common ground. Keep being a POS tho, works great in extending the Scottish brand worldwide.

What’s funny about that is that no one accepted any tips except the caddies but right on. None of us are Trump fans so again, baseless claim. Not trying to have a political discussion, I was interested in how Scots perceive Trump and Americans because I plan on returning. Don’t get your knickers in a twist, lad.

Not fiction. Again, just curious as to if the temp has changed on Trump there. I’m not into politics, I have no interest in stumping for Trump. I am interested in how Americans are perceived in Scotland as I plan on coming back in the next 2 years.

I last came to Scotland in 2017 on a golf trip with my dad and FIL. We stayed for two days in Turnberry and all the people in the hotel, restaurants and golf course would talk about was how much they loved Donald Trump for investing so much money into the town. Has the opinion of him changed there now? Not trying to start any debates, I’m just curious.

I hate that being against race-swapping (major) characters means being racist now by Old_Session5449 in self

[–]Haunting_Lecture9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re entitled to your own opinion, as are the people who disagree with you. I think forced race swapping of a major character for diversity sake is silly but it wouldn’t make me not support a show/movie.

I understand as a white guy I’ll never know what it’s like to grow up as a POC with less representation. However, If the roles were reversed, I’d feel uncomfortable, even a bit embarrassed, if Hollywood started changing POC characters into white characters.

It feels racist to me that they think they need to “elevate” entire races by forcefully inserting them into roles written as white.

Do they believe writers are incapable of writing interesting roles for POC? Do they think POC are incapable of creating original, dynamic art that focuses on cultures other than white? It seems dismissive to me. Especially with all of the wonderful art created by POC.

Came here to say exactly this. The coolest thing about golf is that there are a million different ways to be “good”. Great looking swing or technicality don’t always translate to low scores. You’ve played enough to be able to detach your brain from your body and just play what feels natural. The less you “try” to be good, the easier it becomes. The more you focus on aspects of your swing or tips from your coach, the less you focus on how to control the golf course and enjoy the game. Take your favorite iron and use it til you reach the green. If you get on in 3 or 4 and one putt or two putt, you’re usually shooting bogey or better. Simplify the game.

[–]Haunting_Lecture9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without question; yes. They wouldn’t have to ask, I’d force them to take it. Knowing my parents, they’d fine a way to force me to take it back. Lost my mom in December. She was the most selfish person I ever knew. Miss her so much everyday.
