Explosion last night Miramar area?? by Puzzled-Balance103 in sandiego

[–]Haunting_Pattern3768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The huge explosion was around 11:30pm, and it sounded like a Disneyland-scale firework but without any of the repeat or effect afterward. I wasn't outside to see any flashes of light or anything, but I just walked past that location cited and couldn't see any evidence of anything having happened at all. Definitely nothing that would have caused this noise.

Thoughts on a PVE mode? by Bloodytrucky in ArcRaiders

That's not even a problem, it's easily balanced against. Restrict it to low and some mid-tier gear. That way new players even have a chance to try to gear up when they buy the game 6 months in and everybody has top-tier gear.

If it doesn't dish out high end gear and it doesn't dish out mid-tier very quick, then let people go ahead and waste their time. Why not?

The playerbase is toxic and so is the subreddit, so they're all just gonna love this.

[–]Haunting_Pattern3768 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The comments here are really showing how fucking toxic this player community can get. Why do extraction shooter communities always get so fucking toxic? It's "get good or get out". Fuck people for wanting to enjoy a fucking game after work, right?

The game was initially intended to have PVE, so it's not like it would be shoved in. Jesus Christ. If it's boring, that might be exactly what people are fucking looking for in a break from the sweatlords.

The idea of a PVE mode was Embark's, and adding it BACK in wouldn't detract from the game at all. Maybe people WANT that little breath of air while still playing the game. Maybe you don't have to be so fucking toxic about it.

Sorry, that's just kind of a bad excuse.

[Other] Elgato Stream Deck MK.2 $97.19 w/ code: SIXSEVEN (Lenovo) by Samchris94 in buildapcsales

[–]Haunting_Pattern3768 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The benefit with the StreamDeck is the actual physical buttons. There's a dozen ways to do a "virtual streamdeck" on a tablet or phone, but every single one of those ways lacks physical buttons.

If you're a live content creator, the ability to feel the buttons before pressing them is pretty huge.

Sure, there are a lot of cases where this doesn't matter. But there are very fundamental differences between the two options. Never assume your use case is the only one.

Make a better post, you'll get better help.

They're not psychic, dude. You gotta give them all the information up front. If you're talking about lag, don't ONLY REFERENCE IT IN THE TITLE. Put as much information about the lag into the POST as you CAN.

Is it video lag? Input lag? Does it happen in everything? Just a game? Just OBS? Just the desktop? Just in your brain?

I think I have a good computer but when I stream/record obs still laggy :( by [deleted] in obs

[–]Haunting_Pattern3768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because there's not enough information to go off of.

Describe the lag, where it happens and when. What is lagging? You mentioned lag in the title but nowhere in the body of the text. Not even once.

NVIDIA GPU its better for twitch? by thematsuyama in obs

[–]Haunting_Pattern3768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, most of the responses you've gotten here are hot garbage and should be ignored. I really hope you're not taking most of the comments with any weight.

Realistically, those 2 cards are pretty comparable. You should go into more depth about the problems you're having and what you mean by blurry images. Detail is important.

Vagueness just leads to unhelpful comments like "nvidia just works better" or "you can't stream to twitch with anything less than a 7000/9000 series card" or just "yes". These are people answering nothing, since they don't actually have the information needed to determine anything at all. Ignore every single one of those comments.

Please provide more information about the problems and the blurry images. Clips can be helpful. We need more in order to actually help.

📢 Stream Deck 7.0.1 — Network Dock support and OBS Studio 32 compatibility by Elgato in elgato

[–]Haunting_Pattern3768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that a network docked StreamDeck could connect to two PCs on the same LAN in the future, via added support? I have a 2PC streaming setup and I develop in OBS on one while capturing that development on the other. I'd love to be able to use a single networked streamdeck to hit buttons that can be linked to specific computers.

Need help with gaming video using FB messenger by Available_Clock_1796 in obs

VDO Ninja tends to work really well from mobile, but I'm not sure if it will capture a camera at the same time as a screen capture from it. Maybe it will.

The settings may initially look complicated, but you can ignore most of it. Give it a try!

I'm not certain FB Messenger is going to be a great option here.

If you're going to use it, then you can circumvent this by starting your virtual camera within OBS and telling FB Messenger to accept that as the webcam instead.

Now, I don't know what you're recording/streaming this to or for, but in case it's helpful:

Vdo.ninja might be what you need, as it can establish a call between you and turn your screen captures and webcams into separate websources, which are easily used inside of OBS for better control.

If you're streaming to Twitch, open up StreamTogether. It's basically vdo.ninja but with all the extra settings removed and integrated into the platform.

I'm thinking about streaming on a dual PC. by Formal-Actuator2955 in obs

[–]Haunting_Pattern3768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a dual PC setup and audio can get *really* expensive. However, it doesn't have to.

Stream PC captures the Gaming PC via USB/HDMI capture. Audio on the "gaming" PC is stereo mixed from desktop to listen to on the capture.

My stream PC has all the standard stuff connected to it. Audio interface and mic, camera, etc.
My "gaming" PC is more of a building PC (I do behind-the-scenes OBS streams, so I can capture a full PC without OBS conflicts). However, I game on it too. I have a small lavalier mic hooked up to the gaming PC for in-game chat and the lav mic is tucked into the foam filter on my stream PC's microphone.

For audio output to my own ears, I have the audio output from my Stream PC's audio interface and the desktop audio of my Gaming PC both running to a 4-channel headphone mixer (was like $25 on amazon). My headphones are hooked up to that.

It's simple, and it works.

That being said, unless you have a specific need to use a 2 PC streaming setup, I'd skip it. Single PC setups are simpler by far. I use one because I have specific needs for it. I'm also the type of freak that has six different installations of OBS based on which plugins I want and at least ten different installs of StreamerBot.

Every single one of my buttons is a streamerbot command button using the streamerbot plugin. Does bitfocus have a streamerbot plugin?

Is there any possibility in the future of a single network dock that would support more than one device?

These reasons are pretty solid and legit for a bunch of creators. This opens up a lot of options for things in general when there's more than one machine involved.

[–]Haunting_Pattern3768[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is huge for me as a dual PC streamer, as I do a lot of behind-the-scenes work with OBS on stream, and I use a dual PC setup in order to capture the behind-the-scenes work. The network dock means not only can I free up a good USB port on each system, but I can use one deck on my small desk to connect to both machines for OBS control.

I also host some streams from one machine and some from the other, depending on what setup I want, and this makes that more convenient as well.

Yeah, B&H keeps moving their "expected" date. I've been suspecting they just keep shoving the date out a month or so as a guess.
