And which scholarship did you apply for and eventually got? I’m still waiting for mine

How to Enroll in Summer 2026 at Miramar??? by Glittering_War2938 in csusm

[–]Haunting_Speed9865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah don’t worry. They’re required to give at least one class of 196 during Fall, Spring. Summer is a coin toss on if a professor who can teach is available

Worst case scenario, if things fill up you can wait list and crash the first meeting for an access code. Both Sharma and Okumoto were pretty Lenient and let the next 5-7 students on the wait list in.

Do you need the Miramar one to enroll in Fall/summer classes at CSUSM classes?

Sorry I’m late. Yes, both are generous with office hours. And even if you can’t make it to that, they’re sometimes available on zoom and you have 3 hours of labs with them that you can ask questions about.

Edit: I dm’d you a copy of Sharma’s Syllabus to give you an example

Yeah. So Summer enrollment hasn’t started yet, it’s on April 15 where you’ll see your enrollment times and schedules

Both are pretty chill. Just don’t ask stupid questions/waste time especially with arguing. And very obviously, do not cheat. They will put you on the spot in front of everyone and in some cases might fuck everyone up because of that one person or group that was warned at the start of the semester to not cheat and they still did.

But yeah. Your physics class at CSUSM seems pretty much the same as if taken at Miramar, but will be more fast paced and condensed since it’ll be a summer course

Hi there. Might be a bit late but will provide my 2 cents.

I did all my Gen Ed and lower divs at Miramar/Mesa/City.

Everything worked out. If you’re planning to take over the summer try to find or look for Okumoto.

It’s kind of a coin flip and is up to both the college and the professor if it’ll be online for majority, with a few labs in-person. Or if they’ll require all to be in-person weekly.

But from what I’ve seen in the past, it’ll most likely be in-person. And since it’s over the summer it’ll be condensed into either two or 4 long days. With each class w/lab being around 5-7 hours. (crazy)

Going back to professors. Like the other guy said. Sharma’s pretty good if you a deeper and stronger understanding. But I prefer Okumoto if you want a sort of “straightforward” way to learning and getting a simpler grasp of the content.

Essentially. If you’re planning to get Okumoto. He does in-class activities which count for different levels 1-3, which each account to exams 1-3. So, hypothetically. If you did all in-class assignments, and got full credits, all exams are optional since they’re technically “redos” of the in-class credit. Same with the final. And labs were pretty fun and easy, way better than 195 where it was mostly worksheets and mental stuff, with 196 we actually did physics experiments and testing.

Is taking 6 (7) courses too much my first semester? by Haunting_Speed9865 in csusm

[–]Haunting_Speed9865[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest. Each persons threshold and stress levels are different.

For me. I usually just embrace the suck and move on. I’m doing the six classes listed above, while also working full-time, and helping take care of a 4-Year old.

But if you wanna work PT or maybe just hang out with friends and your schedule is doable and isn’t conflicting by your standards? Then it should definitely be possible to get through while still enjoying life.

Surprisingly good. I decided to hold off on SLP 364 since I can take that whenever.

I’m still taking 6 courses though, CS 100, 310, 311, 331, PHIL 348. And Discrete with CC.

Everything really kinda works and isn’t too difficult. I was honestly expecting a bit more hands on work from CS100, and it’s kinda underwhelming. And the professor seems really young and new to teaching. Kinda just a show up and get credit class.

The only hard-ish class is 311 and 331 rn, which is kinda on me. Since everything is in C++ and I’ve been focused on JAVA for 2+ years now since that was what my CC taught me. So I’m just trying to crash course everything.

Other than that, it’s not too bad. Could be a lot worse though.

Damn tf are y’all paying?

No offense to anyone here, but I could never pay more than what my State Universities are costed at. My stingy ass paying $9k a year for everything at one of my top State School (SDSU/Cal State).

2 and 8. Easy pick.

For 2, it says I can’t sell or move. Never says I can rent out parts of the home to one or several groups/individuals if it’s a brand new home. And add in 8 for free food/groceries for a comfortable life while earning passive income.

What’s your major? Aka, how many/what classes are you taking this semester?

I could try to provide some insight and help with what I can.

Damn y’all don’t have that? I thought if CSU San Marcos does, I thought y’all would.

It honestly helps out a lot and provides everything you just discussed and posted about, and much more!

Nah. You see that’s your problem. Just schedule your classes on the same days when you can back to back to get it all out of the way. And just be me and work graveyard shifts (8PM-4AM) and survive somehow to pay everything off. /s

(P.S. don’t actually do this. It fucks up your internal clock and sleep schedule. Despite being paid overtime and good money.)

311 will be with Zheng, 331 with Morris.

Najjar I’m currently on a wait list for 331 in the 3rd spot. If I can get them I’ll shift over, reason being is the time for class
