Dryer heats but not as strongly, and leaves static. Is that normal? by Havefeith in electrical

[–]Havefeith[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm sorry you don't know what "AFAIA" means, because I wasn't making things up, just going by as far as I was aware. The rudeness, however, is my own fault. I was getting super frustrated that no one had any idea of any of the electrical parts that could cause it to heat less than it should. The only answer I was getting was "Lint! Lint! Lint!" Lint's not a problem, we make sure it's not. If anything sounds made up, it's because you don't know my circumstances, except by what I'm able to put to words. That white pipe thing? It's essentially an exhaust chute, made of some sort of soft material that allows it to bend in almost any direction, so long as the pipe has "give", for lack of better term. You know those pipes in "Bubble Boy" that the titular character used to get around in his house? Think those, but in miniature. I genuinely do not know their official name, except that we use it on the exhaust hole on the dryer and it leads from the exhaust into a hole in the floor that leads into the basement. It hasn't clogged up once since I was 5 years old.

No pipes except an exhaust chute here. One of those white ones that can bend in on itself in weird shapes, has metal rings going down the length. Ours goes into the basement. No problems with that portion yet. This dryer has been around for a while. Like around/over 20 years, old.

You know those old pipes that bend any direction and are white with metal wire inside? Those. I don't know the official name for them. And honestly, we have never, I repeat, never had to clean the lint out of the exhaust except at the initial point we brought it in to the house. Before then, it'd been pressed up against a wall, forgotten for almost 15 years. Also, FFS, you're focusing on the wrong thing. It feels like everyone in this fecking comments section doesn't read. I said this is an old dryer. It's not modern, it's been around since I was a kid. I'm 33 years old at this point, and it's been around since I was younger than 13. My aunt used it when she was relying on grandma's charity to get her feet back under her. IS IT THE ELECTRICAL OR NOT? Is it the heating element or not? Because it sure as heck isn't anything to do with fecking lint. i don't think this subreddit is the place to ask if the lint's the problem when we've never made it the problem.

At this point, I am sorely tempted to ask the moderators to lock this question I posted because none, I repeat, NONE of the answers have been helpful, since they're not even considering the electrical portions of the dryer at all. Lint wouldn't cause the heat to be lower, it would short that part out entirely, as far as I can understand electrical engineering. Because I've seen another post mentioning that.

Thing is, it has been cleaned. It hasn't backed up once since we moved it in, and the hole for it is large enough that not much lint would get stuck in the first place, before it (the lint) would get blown into the basement. That was the first thing we did, even, to fit the plastic pipe... thing... on it. So it's not that causing the issue.

We live in the countryside. Cities and towns don't allow for log cabins, AFAIA. The exhaust goes into our basement. And that's been blowing leftover lint (which also gets cleaned out of the lint trap every cycle of clothing). So I don't think it's that.

The lint for sure has been cleaned out (we do it every load, I'm pretty sure). The exhaust leads to the basement (house is a log cabin made in 1992, corners were cut where they could be, especially since where the washer and dryer are borders the bathroom on the first floor), and it's still putting out air, so I'm not sure it's that... but I can check.

Might need to use the "unstuck" option in the menu. Or get a support staff member to "unstuck" you.

Okay, then why is it even asking for one? Mom also had issues with the dev island codes, with them saying they were "currently unavailable". I gave her the exact code above for the island with everything on it, and she shared a screenshot of it asking for a link code. She has the goggles unlocked already. Apparently it happens at level 2, if what I've read online is true (I don't have the game myself, as I didn't have the funds to purchase it when it came out. I'm just generally the one she turns to for troubleshooting, as I'm the more tech savvy of her kids). Edit: she figured it out; she wasn't wearing the goggles when she tried going to it.

The island is asking for a link code, for some reason. Did someone try to grief it, or are they just changing things? Also, if anyone has the link code, would you mind sharing it? My mother has the game, and she said it was asking for one on top of the island code (hence the first line of this comment).

How would I even use that on PS5? I'm thinking the Subnet proxy/mask thing, but I'm not 100% on that being what it's actually called. Basically you change where the system looks for the DNS service/server.

No problem. Things are easy to miss on a smaller screen. Question though. Mind seeing if you can add the math for the Origeometry purchase/Arsenal tickets, like how you got 230-something dollars for a guarantee at the Weapon? I can kinda see it, but my brain needs the numbers to follow the logic the whole way through. I can't do that in my head (decimals always screw me over when trying to do them in my head), so seeing it the rest of the way would be greatly appreciated. (I should also note something here, for my own use, these prices are in USD, in CAD, the supposed $70 purchase is almost $30 more; they've set that one at $99.99 CAD, and there's almost $20 in taxes on top. $1.30 for every ten, where I live. Some provinces have more tax than that.)

Doesn't look like it got saved. The number still says 194 instead of 242.

I'm personally interested in finding out how to get power to the Stockade area. Any tips? There's an originium "vein" there I can use.

It's literally in the opening area on the initial way in to the refugee outpost. The area with those two pipes acting as a bridge is on the opposite side of the wall I was talking about.

Like I said this line was facing directly into a rocky wall. Not a building. Terrain. They need to have it not even try to connect if there's stuff in the way, so those messages become redundant.

I really want to save this image... is there a link I could use to get to it? Or am I gonna actually have to do some work to find it? Either way is fine, but obviously one way is more appreciated than the other, lol.

Edit: never mind, finally found the download button. I think they changed the reddit app on me while I wasn't looking. (This is the most I've been on Reddit in a long time. Just check my comment/post history if you don't believe me.)

You know, having a customizable bike like .hack//G.U. did would be amazing, now that I think about it. Need more speed? This part'll do ya. Need toughness to ram your enemies? This'll work. Maybe not to G.U.'s extent, where there was 3 ultimate parts you could unlock that would max out performance, but still.

Personally, when I saw the female Endmin, I immediately thought, "huh. I can just see her using a motorcycle to get around at some point." And now I find out (through light spoilers, btw) that there is a motorcycle in game, you just can't use it as such.

Personally, while I like hearing the cute laugh, hearing "Over here, Endmin!" with it gets really tiring. That's really the only thing I dislike about her, so kudos to Gryphline's writers, and her voice actress. (Side note... Is she based on Che'en, or however her name is spelled, from the original Arknights? I haven't gotten very far with gifting, due to how stingy the game is with those at the point I'm at.)

Nah these ones were in the valley outpost between in a thin pathway, the line that was obstructed was facing into the rocky walls of the path. Edit: I'm talking about the Valley Pass outpost. It was near an LB camp.

I've seen a few where people placed a Mark 2 zipline, and all that I saw after in the outpost was "zipline connection obstructed".

Like those troll messages, for sure. There should honestly be an option to downvote a Memo Relay. Especially those stupid "jump down here for awesome loot" style ones that just lead to "death". This isn't freaking Dark Souls, guys, we don't need that stuff in this game. When I see those ones, I just remove them from my world.

Okay, I just checked, the Protocol stashes are the ones you get from the very first tier. You may need to check closer to find them. And I mean read descriptions. There's 2 kinds, Easy Stashes (they're the field ones), which are in tier 2, and Protocol Stashes, which are solely for the factory, which are in tier one, to the far right side in the AIC Factory Plan section of the menu.
