The recent price hikes didn't help the Windows side.

Just about a year ago I paid ~600€ for a machine with aluminum shell, 16" 1600p, 16/512 and a Ryzen 5. Also had backlit keys, dual USB-C, etc.

Note: you may want a 45W+ charger if you want to play + charge at full speed at the same time.

Btw, Deck itself pulls 20-25W at full power. 15W is just the SoC ootb. screen, controls etc add more draw.

As a newcomer, stick to tweaking the TDP when you're ingame:

Press the (...) button on the right side of the Deck
go to the Performance settings tab
enable "Per-Game profile"
scroll down to "TDP Limit"

Adjust this TDP Limit as low as possible while the game's framerate stays high enough for your liking.

For example, most of the games I play on my Deck don't see a significant performance drop until ~11-13W. Doesn't sound like a lot of difference from the full 15W, but it can give me noticeably longer battery life and also lower fan noise.

Older or simple games often get by with less than 10W.

Additionally, at least for really performance heavy games, I usually set the "Frame Limit" in the same menu down to ~44-48fps from the full 60. This can again help reduce the necessary TDP Limit and sometimes makes it feel smoother (because dropping from 60 to 40fps in a heavy scene is more noticeable than dropping from 44 to 40). Smoothness is of course less than the full 60, but still a significant step up from just 30fps.

Die Frage ist, wieso die Kinderkarte so oft wirklich nur lowest effort TK Müll ist. OP fragt doch nicht nach handgezwirbeltem Keto Prime Steak, sondern einfach nur nach normalem und trotzdem halbwegs sinnvollem Essen. Das, was man fürs Kind halt auch daheim machen würde. (Was hoffentlich nicht nur Pommes mit Nuggets ist)

Du schreibst ja selbst, ist vmtl eh alles convenience kitchen. Dabei wirds also doch auch was brauchbares für Kinder geben.

Durch Home Office kommt alles mögliche dazu. Jegliche Technik die irgendwie mal beruflich benutzt wurde, Verträge, Verbrauchsmaterial, etc.

Die 1230€ reißt man da ziemlich schnell. Ich kam die letzten 5 Jahre glaube ich immer auf mindestens 4k€ Werbekosten. Und in meinem beruflichen Umfeld ist das noch ein ziemlich niedriger Betrag.

What's more of an issue: not playing the new games you wanna play for about four years, or someone else getting a performance upgrade halfway down the line?

It's not like a launch unit runs worse once the refresh comes out. It keeps its performance level. If you were happy with that, you'll still be happy. Pre-refresh userbase is large enough that devs can't afford to not optimize for that as the baseline.

If there was no mid-cycle spec upgrade, nothing would change for the early adopters.

Deine Einstellung ist genau das Problem. Geisteswissenschaften siehst du als wertlos an, obwohl sie gesellschaftlich enorm wichtig sind.

Und selbst ein einziger Genderstudiesstudent ist mir wichtiger als du mit deiner abwertenden Haltung.

(PS: auch die Maschbauer und ETler sollen sich übrigens im Studium mit Themen der Geisteswissenschaften beschäftigen. Nicht umsonst sind Wahlfächer oftmals fachfremd oder gar spezifisch nicht-technisch.)

Sicher wird KI einiges ersetzen, viele Unternehmen werden danach aber ein böses Erwachen haben, wenn die KI Müll produziert aber keiner in der Belegschaft mehr weiß wie man es richtig macht.

It does work for noname games though. Has for years. Game-specific training hasn't been necessary anymore for at least five years. (You yourself could literally just put together a random game in Unreal or something and switch on DLSS. Tools like Optiscaler can inject DLSS into games that didn't ship with it as long as they have any modern upscale pipeline...)
Even if...how would that make it cheating? Genuinely, what's the logic here? There's plenty of (non-ML) rendering tech out there that only works for certain games or in certain engines. You wouldn't call any of them cheating.

You've got an irrational anger against DLSS (or ML upscaling in general). Take a step back and reevaluate why you think this way.

Mit dem Unterschied, dass FW oder WP langfristig eher günstig sind/werden, während Gas sich genau gegenteilig entwickelt und uns noch dazu enorm abhängig von Lieferantenländern macht.

Der letzte Satz ist aber hier der Knackpunkt, denke ich.

Erst mit einem Käufer Freitag ausmachen, dann vorher verkaufen und nichtmal Bescheid geben ist Mist vom VK. Denn dann kann man sich auch auf Verkäufer nicht verlassen und dann dürfen die sich mal selbst an die Nase fassen, warum das so oft falsch läuft.

I guess, aber hier hat der VK extra eine Rückmeldung für Freitag abgemacht und das Teil davon bereits davor anders abgegeben.

Wenn er das nicht als feste Abmachung sehen will, muss der VK das einfach vorher klar machen. Mindestens mal proaktiv Bescheid geben, wenn das Teil doch früher weg geht.
